WEEKLY NOTICES AND REMINDERS

Kia Ora whanau! Week 9 is drawing to a close, and like the nation - we are so thrilled to be at Level 1. School is open for all, and it is business as usual. We no longer need to contact trace, but as usual, if you are a visiting on site, we do need you to sign in at the office. Thanks for your ongoing support of our efforts to keep us safe and well. We have secured a spot with Netsafe - they will be coming to share with us ways we can help keep our kids safe online, and what kinds of things/games are age appropriate. Please register your interest and attendance by emailing Briar. [email protected]

Time to be confirmed, likely to be after work, and babysit-ting will be provided.

I was fortunate enough to have Mr Scott Simpson pop in this week, with a gift for our school. 3D Virtual Reality Goggles! Over the next little while some of our older children will have the opportunity to take a tour of parliament or other tours... pretty exciting! A big thanks to those who have filled in our survey! We have some great responses on how we can best get messages out, how lockdown worked out for some, and what came out of lockdown that was im-portant to us all. There will be another survey coming out in the next week or so, around our Charter and what we, as a community see as areas of priority to work on and what is working well. Have a lovely weekend coming, Nga mihi Briar

PB4L PB4L News - Positive Behaviour for Learning.

Our tamariki have been working hard to earn orange reward tickets - you may hear them talking about this at home. Teachers give out tickets for noticed fabulousness; being caring, responsible and respectful. The children collect tickets for rewards: 10 tickets = ice block, 20 tickets = visit an-other class of your choice for 1 block, 30 = Sushi, 40 = Free choice afternoon block or mufti for the day, 50 = Visit cafe/fish and chips with a teacher of their choice. We are so glad to reward our chil-

dren for their brilliant choices to earn something just for them.

A fave teaching moment is: - when a new concept is grasped by a student / smiley and happy students What makes me happy: - My grandkids (and kids), the beach, the sunshine, my dog and of course my husband What I’d bring to a deserted island: - Books, books and more books and crafts to do (taking for granted that there is water and food available) My most treasured possession is: - Scrapbooks/ photo albums (MEMORIES) If I had a magic wand I’d: - make sure that there is no poverty, that people are "kind" to each other and healthy,- also for all animals to be looked after well. In my spare time I like to: - read, walk, swim, bike, knit, quilt, learning to weave, garden, cook, road trips, and most of all spending time with family and friends.

WHO WE ARE

A fave teaching moment is: Seeing happy faces coming through the classroom door. What makes me happy: Feeling positive about doing a good job. What I’d bring to a deserted island: My hubby Geof. My most treasured possession is: My family (togetherness) If I had a magic wand I’d: Infect people with joy and hope. In my spare time I like to: Relax and be spoilt.
