Up to 80 bodies still at MH17 crash site, says Australianminister

"We call upon all sides to establish, maintain and fully respect a cease-fire at and around the crashsite, as demanded by UN Security Council resolution 2166, so that the investigators can take uptheir work and to recover the remains of all victims and their personal possessions," said a G7statement last night.

Experts from the Netherlands and Australia have tried for five days running to reach the crash sitein Eastern Ukraine.

"The goal is to reach the spot where MH17 crashed and evaluate safety on the route from Donetsk,"the Dutch forensic team said in a statement.

Although most of the bodies have been recovered from the site, there are still the remains of up to80 people and personal belongings to be secured.

Last night the EU blacklisted two of Vladimir Putin's closest "cronies" and froze the assets of the

Russian weapons company that made missiles used to shoot down the doomed Malaysian Airlinesflight.

On Friday, new EU economic sanctions will enter into force cutting some of Russia's biggest banksoff from international money markets and starving Russian defence and oil industry of Eesterntechnology.

"We have witnessed with anger and frustration the delays in providing international access to thesite of the air crash, the tampering with the remains of the plane, and the disrespectful handling ofthe deceased," said a statement agreed by all EU leaders on Tuesday.
