Colorado Railyard Feasibility Study- Why is it being conducted?
Regional Transportation District (RTD) must acquire two Union Pacific railroad yards in northeast Denver for its FasTracks rail transit project.
The Classification Yard will become a maintenance facility serving RTD’s four commuter rail lines.
The East Corridor line between downtown Denver and Denver International Airport crosses through the Intermodal Yard, whichwill also be a station location.
Operations at the relocated yards must begin January 1, 2010 to meet the FasTracks schedule.
