1 CRICKET MATCH; INDIA VS AUSTRALIA

Cricket commentary can be heard as the camera pans through thedark to reveal three guys sitting and watching the match.

CLOSE ON a TV screen showing a test cricket match; the Indian sideis batting and Australian side is bowling. An Australian fielderjust stops the ball from touching the boundry line.

ADITYAI don't know how the Australians do itevery time. It's like they haveteleporting machines to get to whereverthe ball is!

ROHANIf we go by statistics, Australia is

definitely going to win this match.

VIKRAMNo guys! I prayed to God for this match!

Shreesant's face is shown on the TV.

VIKRAM (CONT'D)This Shreesant will save us!

Rohan and Aditya both look at Vikram in an angry way.

ADITYAI don't understand. How does a country of20 Million beat a country of 1 Billion

which is growing at 2% every year?! Imean, we are producing a new Australiaeach year and still we get creamed bythem.

CLOSE ON the TV, the Indian score is 193 for 6.

ADITYA (CONT'D)We need to win this match to get ahead inthe series. Aditya, start your special

prayers. We needto win.

Shreesant hits a six.

ROHANWoah! Shreesant just defied all rules ofprobability!

Shreesant hits another six.

ADITYAYes! India has a chance in the second

VARIOUS SHOTS of the three leaving and going to a restaurant.

ROHAN (V.O.)The odds were not in India's favour. Itdidn't look like India would post such astrong comeback. But they did. And now

Aditya's treating us. We've been likethis since a long time. Aditya treats and

me and Vik eat. It was 6th grade when Ifirst met Aditya. He was not this kind

then.

FLASHBACK to two young kids. Aditya shown beating Rohan to theground.

ROHAN (V.O.) (CONT'D)He was one of the worst people I everknew. I don't know how, but somehow wejust became friends. Vikram came into thepicture two years later, in the 8thgrade.

FLASHBACK to two kids meeting a new kid in school. The third kidis given a dirty look by the first two.

ROHAN (V.O.) (CONT'D)We were not very fond of each other atfirst but slowly started enjoying hiscompany. He is not very smart and crackslame jokes, but we still like to hangaround with him.This is my story friends, this is myperfect life.

Title frame rolls in.

FADE OUT.

3 EXAM HALL

Camera pans along students giving their final board exams, Vikram,Rohan and Aditya can be seen sitting close to each other. Vikramlooks at Rohan, he is writing his paper diligently. He then turnstowards Aditya. After a short sequence of hand gestures, Vikramgets back to writing his paper.

Bell rings and examiner takes the papers away.

CUT TO OUTSIDE SCHOOL

ROHANHow was your paper?

VIKRAMDon't ask how it was, I just forgot

everything about it the moment I left.

ADITYAWhatever, let's go. Exams are finallyover.

ROHANOkay.

They all start proceeding towards Vikram's car.

ROHAN (CONT'D)

So guys, whats the uh..plan?

ADITYANow to Vikrams house. Movie after that,

maybe.

Vikram nods.

They get into the car.

ROHANNo dude, plan for the future...

VIKRAMShut up man, screw the future, live inthe present!

ROHANThat mentality will make you homeless oneday.

ADITYAHey hey, stop with all that philosophy.

VIKRAM

Yea man, exams just got over. I wannaenjoy!

Rohan grunts.

ROHAN (V.O.)They didn't care at all. They wereprocrastinators; ignoring their futureand keeping the decisions for later.

Car drives through the entrance of Vikram's house. The three getout and go inside.

Rohan gives Vikram a dirty look. Vikram is disinterested and goesback and sits on a chair.

CUT TO ROHAN SITTING IN A RICKSHAW.

CLOSE UP of Rohan as he looks out and smiles. He reaches for hisphone and calls Aditya.

CUT TO BLACK.

6 OUTSIDE VIKRAM'S HOUSE

Rohan and Aditya both walk up to the main gate from differentsides. Aditya has a CD in his hand. He looks a little worried.

ROHANGot it?

Aditya hands him the CD in a very reluctant manner.

ADITYATook me full three days to compile. Itsgot all the lessons on shots, swings,spins, and all the content.

Rohan has a smirk on his face.

ROHANOur website will completely stand outnow.

VIKRAM

I guess.

Both enter the building.

7 VIKRAM'S HOUSE (2) -- CONTINUED

Vikram's room. Vikrams looking at pictures of girls on hismonitor. Aditya enters.

ADITYAUgh dude! What the hell?! Isnt that girlfrom our batch?

Vikram quickly closes the window and removes his headphones. Hehas a guilty expression on his face. Rohan enters.

ROHANWhat happened? Did I miss something?

VIKRAMAh, no, nothing, you missed nothing.

ADITYAStop lying, you pervert.

Aditya gives Vikram a dirty look. Vikram tries to avoid him, andbarely manages.

VIKRAMRohan, dude! My mom got the base outlinere-designed, it looks pretty bad ass.Check it out.

Vikram puts on a window on his computer with the website outlineon it. Rohan and Vikram close in. Rohan is amazed.

CUT TO LAPTOP SCREEN.

VIKRAMNext thing we fill in all the content andits ready...

ROHAN

Wait. What is the name of the website?

ADITYAFourthUmpire.com?

Rohan pats on Aditya's back. Vikram has a smile on his face. Hisexpression changes back to normal suddenly.

VIKRAMOi guys! Did you'll get the content?

Rohan hands him the CD.

ROHAN

VIKRAMOh good! Here catch.

Vikram suddenly throws the CD back to Rohan. Rohan barely managesto catch it.

ROHANWhat on earth is wrong with you?

VIKRAMMy fingers are hurting, can you pleasejust put in the content. We learnt it inComputer Sciences class remember? Webdesigning? It's veryeasy.

Vikram smiles. Rohan look towards Aditya.

ADITYADon't look at me. I didn't take computersciences.

CAMERA PANS AWAY FROM THE ROOM.

8 VIKRAM'S HOUSE

A SHOT showing the transition from day-to-night-to-day.

Rohan is looking at the screen of the computer.

ROHANLook, we already have a 1000 views on thefirst day. At this rate well be earninglike anything in no time!

ROHANAdvertisements. Just like YouTube. OrFacebook. Or any other popular website.

ADITYA

Rohan smirks.

Rohan and Aditya both burst out laughing.

Vikram's sitting on the sofa with his laptop.

Rohan is jotting down on a notepad.

ADITYAGuys, can you tell me what you'll aredoing?

ROHANAdvertisers man. These people are listedas companies which want to advertise.

Door bell rings. Aditya, opens the door. There is a courier man onthe door.

COURIER MANSaab, aapka courier.

Aditya signs the paper and takes the letters. He starts glancingat them one by one.

ADITYA

Hey look, the internet bill. Sixthousand!

VIKRAMWhat?! I always get a bill of sevenhundred! Hows that even possible? Dadsgoing to kill me!

ROHANIts the website which is eating into thebill. We need to find some advertisersimmediately. Vikram! Let's get back.

Rohan and Vikram continue with the numbers.

Rohan is dressed in formal clothes, waiting in an office. He seemsnervous. A lady tells him to go inside after some time.

website offers all sorts of informationon cricket, scores, expert advice andcommentary, statistics, and trivia. Wealready have around thirty thousandsubscribers in the first month, and we

would like your company...

CHAIRMAN 1To advertise on your website?

ROHANYes sir.

CHAIRMAN 1Mr. Gupta, you do realise that the

website is only a month old right?

CUT TO a different setting. Another cabin with Rohan sittingopposite another chairman.

CHAIRMAN 2What are the qualifications of the person

who is dealing with all the expertadvice?

The chairman makes a very reluctant face.

Rohan, Aditya, Vikram and Harsh are sitting on a table.

Rohan puts his hands on the phone.

ROHANGuys, a person named Karan is on thephone. He is the head of Alpha

Advertising. He wants to advertise on thewebsite.

ROHANYa Karan, can you just send me all yourdetails on my mail? Its given on thecontact page.

KARANRight right, I'll do that.

ROHANEvery sports company in the city turned

Karan hangs up.

ROHANYes guys! We finally have an advertiser!

VIKRAMYay! Cheers!

They all put their fountain cokes against each other. Harsh startslaughing.

12 CONFERENCE CONVERSATION

The trio are talking on the phone, Rohan has his laptop on.

ADITYASo what are they offering?

ROHANFive bucks per click?

VIKRAMWill that be enough?

ROHANI guess, if the current user trendcontinues, then we might start earning adecent amount!

VIKRAMNice!

ADITYARohan.

ROHAN

Ya dude?

13 SIX MONTHS LATER

Mumbai. One month later. At Vikrams house, Rohan, Aditya andVikram, have ordered pizza.

Aditya smiles.

ROHAN (CONT'D)We have finally made our first profit.Sixty grand!

Vikram shouts.

ADITYAFinally man, finally! It feels greatright now.

VIKRAMYa guys! I can't believe this actually

worked out!

ROHANHere. Aditya your twenty, Vikram yourtwenty. And the remaining twenty...

VIKRAMI'm going to buy new games with this

money man! Aditya what you going to dowith it?

ADITYANot sure. I might spend it on a new

camcorder. Rohan, what are you doing withyour part?

Rohan nods.

Anushka's excitement fades away.

Rohan takes Aditya and moves to a farther side of the room.

Rohan looks at Anushka. She is in a mess.

Rohan walks towards Anushka. Aditya smirks.

15 ANUSHKA AND ROHANS RELATION

MONTAGE of Rohan and Anushka's relation developing. He teaches herthings about work. They grow closer to each other.

CUT TO Rohan laying on his bed in his room. He is solving a Rubikscube. His phone rings.

ANUSHKARohan, theres no one to come with me tothe mall. Will you come?

ROHANErr... I'm a little busy right now.

ANUSHKARohan please!

At the billing counter.

CUT TO Rohan and Anushka sitting and having a meal.

After that, I got really stuck on tobusiness and made my mind that I would dothat.

Both start laughing.

Rohans phone rings. He cuts the call.

Anushka looks at Rohan in a very sarcastic manner.

this, right?

Rohan's phone rings again. He picks it up.

ROHAN (CONT'D)Yea what? You know its Sunday today...

Muttering heard on the phone.

ROHAN (CONT'D)What?!

Mutter.

ROHAN (CONT'D)Okay, wait there I'm coming.

He hangs up.

ROHAN (CONT'D)Anushka, let's go.

They leave.

16 VIKRAM'S HOUSE (3) -- CONTINUED

Constant bells. Aditya opens the door.

ROHANWhat happened?

VIKRAMA bunch of our subscribers just gotscammed, thats what happened.

ROHANWhat? How?

ADITYAAlpha Advertisers.They set up a pharmingscam, fooled two of our subscribers intothinking that they are logging on to

Amazon's website. Turns out they wereactually going on to some fake website

which only looked like Amazon.

VIKRAMAnd then they bought stuff with theircredit cards.

ADITYAIn simple terms, they got robbed.

Rohan walks around in frustration.

ROHANHow much money has been taken?

VIKRAMCan't say. Around five to seven lakhs.

ROHANDamn it!

ADITYAWe have lost around forty percentsubscribers as well.

Rohan is visibly shaken up and has a bizarre expression. He sitsdown on the sofa and puts his hands on his head.

ADITYARohan, they're filling officialcomplaints against the website!

ROHANWhat?! How is it our fault?

VIKRAMIt doesnt matter to them! They gotlooted on ourwebsite.

Silence in the room.

ADITYAAnushka, you go home we are going to thepolice station.

POLICE OFFICERNaam?

ROHAN

Rohan turns around and looks at Vikram and Aditya standing nearby.

Aditya and Vikram drop Rohan off.

ADITYAThe maximum senstence that bastard canget is 4 years in jail.

VIKRAMRohan. Get some rest. We've had a roughnight.

Rohan nods.

19 ROHAN'S HOUSE

Next day. Bell rings. Rohan opens the door. Anushka is standing atthe door.

ROHANWhat are you doing here?

ANUSHKAI just wanted to meet you...

ROHAN

Well, come in...

Anushka is sitting on the sofa. Rohan gets two cups of coffee.

ANUSHKAI can't imagine that Alpha guy did that.

ROHANKaran. The guy's name.

Anushka nods.

ROHAN (CONT'D)I hadnt imagined that myself either, not

even in my wildest dreams. He seemed veryimpressive at first. I should haveknown... it was too good to be true.

Anushka pats him on the back.

ANUSHKA

I think I should leave now, its gettinglate.

ROHANRight.

At the door.

ROHANTake care...

Anushka gives Rohan a hug. Rohan gets surprised at first, but then

hugs her back.

ANUSHKABye.

Rohan smiles and waves to her.

20 GETTING BACK

Montage. Showing the trio getting back to work and the businessfinally progressing again. Rohan gets a mail from the policesaying that they are about to catch Karan Malhotra. Rohan iscontent when he reads the mail. Also, in this montage, Rohan and

Anushkas relationship develops further. (We can show a phonemessaging sequence which is funny and at the same time helpsestablish the relation firmly.)

Vikram's house.

VIKRAMYaar, today Harsh is coming back.

ROHANFrom where?

VIKRAMState level sprint at Nagpur.

ADITYANice! Did he win?

VIKRAMI dont know. Fool forgot to take hiscell phone with him.

ADITYAOh.

VIKRAM

ROHANWhat?

VIKRAMSee, I need to go somewhere. So I need

you to pick him up from the station.

ROHANWhere, exactly, are you going?

VIKRAMErr... Ayush's party.

It's okay Rohan, we'll get Harsh.

VIKRAMOh thanks. Hes coming by DurontoExpress, Bandra Station at 11pm.

ADITYAAlright.

21 RAILWAY STATION

Rohan and Aditya get into a rickshaw to go to the station. A mancan be seen watching them. The man is on the phone.

GOONThey have left. I am going to go behindthem now.

KARANGood.

Sequence showing goon following Rohan and Aditya.

Station platform. Aditya gives the autowalla the money. They climbup to the main platform. Harsh is standing close by.

ADITYAThere you are champ. What rank?

HARSHSecond. I'm going for nations next monthnow.

ADITYAOh nice.

They give each other a high five.

ROHAN

Yea now let's get you baggage and go.

As Harsh and Rohan are picking up the bags, Aditya spots a shadyfigure. The man raises a gun and blindfires.

ADITYADuck!

They all run to one side of the station, and out from the exit.The goon follows them.

ADITYAGive me your phone Rohan! I need to callthe police!

Rohan gives him the phone.

They arrive at the parking lot and take cover behind the cars.While they are doing that Harsh takes a huge fall. Harsh is

between two cars and Rohan and Aditya are both beside him. Thegoon takes aim at Harsh.

ADITYARohan! Get Harsh on one side! Quickly!

Rohan is confused and scared. He looks at the goon and looks backat Aditya. SLOW MOTION sequence.

GOONTake your FIR back bastards.

The goon fires. Rohan jumps in to save Harsh, but Harsh gets hitin the ankle. Rohan jumps a split second late. During this Adityatries to call police from Rohan's cell, but see's his sister's

message before that. He sees the meassage and then calls thepolice. After they all get to one side, Aditya grabs a stone andthrows. It hits the goons face and he blanks out and falls. Allthree of them then quickly get a rickshaw and leave.

In the rickshaw. Harsh is screaming in pain.

ROHANBhaiya, jaldi Hospital lena.

In the hospital, Rohan and Aditya are both standing outside theemergency ward.

ADITYARohan, you scum, you were dating mysister!

Aditya punches Rohan.

ROHANSorry Aditya, I was going to tell you...

ADITYAAnd what were you waiting for when Harsh

was on the ground? Because of your onesecond delay, Harsh got his ankle shotat!

Rohan stays silent.

22 HOSPITAL

After some time Vikram arrives. Aditya takes him to a corner andtell him what happened. Vikram approaches Rohan. He gives him astare and walks past. Rohan is devastated. He can't himselfunderstand why he stopped. He leaves the hospital and goes backhome.

23 ROHANS HOUSE (2)

Rohan doesn't get a call or a visit from any of his friends fordays. He gets depressed. VARIOUS SHOTS of the events happeningduring these days.

One afternoon, in his rooms, he takes out a bottle of pills fromhis pocket and takes around 10 to 15 of them.

CLOSE UP on Rohan. FISRT PERSON. Rohans eyes close.

24 HOSPITAL -- CONTINUED

Rohan gets up in a hospital and he can see Aditya, Vikram andAnushka standing near him.

ANUSHKAYour mom called me. I spoke to my brotheras well.

ADITYARohan, whatever you did was wrong but wecan, for the one last time, forgive you.

VIKRAMHarsh asked me to tell you that he isfine, and its okay and he wants to forget

what happened.
