Wash-down separators are primarily used on

car wash bays, pressure wash facilities or other

cleaning facilities where the effluent must be

discharged to the foul water drainage system.

Silt traps are positioned ahead of an oil

separator where it gathers and stores silt and

sediment, preventing it from entering the oil

separator system.

Marsh Hydroil bypass separators are manufactured from virgin unfilled resin offering exceptionaldurability, impact resistance and are guaranteed to be watertight and of uniform thickness. Thesecombined properties ensure that the full range of separators stand up to the most rigorous conditionsduring their service life. Read on to find out what our customers say about our products...

Oil separators (EN 858-1)Oil separators must be tested to EN 858-1 achieving a final dischargeconcentration of <5mg/l. Furthermore, in line with the British Water How ToGuide: (Applying the CIRIA SuDS Manual Simple Index Approach toProprietary/Manufactured Stormwater Treatment Devices),“the free phasehydrocarbon mitigation indices for class 1 separators can be up to 0.975”.

Marsh successfully tested its Marsh:Marator and Marsh:Hydroil separators atPIA, Aachen, to EN858-1, with the Marator passing all sample tests at<0.1mg/litre.

Structural integrity testingStructural integrity tests, performed in accordance with EN ISO 179-1/1eA:2010-11, were undertaken to evaluate the strength of Marsh Industries’ GRPmaterials against similar GRP materials used by other manufacturers.

Three separate material samples were submitted for impact testing; MarshGRP material (virgin unfilled resin), a GRP material containing calcium fillersand a GRP material containing sand filler.

The tests involved 12 samples of each material at a size of 80x10x5mm. Thenominal pendulum energy was 15J at an impact velocity of 3.8m/s.

Results proved Marsh GRP material to be 40% stronger than the othermaterials tested.

Fire resistant testingFire resistance testing was performed to assess ignitability of productssubjected to direct impingement of flame. Marsh Industries’ GRP materialpassed all practical testing to achieve EN ISO 11925-2:2010 standard.

MARSH HYDROIL AND MARATOR CASE STUDIES

Magna Park, LutterworthTo comply with strict regulations for oil and hydrocarbonseparation on discharge, the requirement for Marsh fullretention oil separators was identified alongside twoadditional bypass separators and a forecourt separator toprotect against major fuel spillages.

Titanic Docks, BelfastThree Marsh full retention oil seperators were specifiedand installed during summer 2020 to meet strictenvironmental regulations on this site for a global onlineretailer, located within the Titanic Quarter of Belfast.

Symmetry Park, BicesterAs part of the expansion of this industrial site, including anew warehouse development for a major parceldistribution facility, four Marsh full retention oil separatorswere specified alongside a forecourt oil separator toprotect against major fuel spillages and to comply withstrict regulations for oil and hydrocarbon separation ondischarge.

Recovery site, near South Downs National ParkThe above Marator65 was specified and installed at anHGV recovery site located close to the South DownsNational Park. Owing to the sensitive environmentalissues surrounding this site and with effluent beingdischarged into a river, the Marsh Marator was specifieddue to its exceptional discharge quality of 0.1mg/l(industry standard: 5mg/l).

A great company that excels in communication, availability, sales and technical awareness. Wehighly recommend.
