Head CoachSecond SeasonUniversity of Toledo (2007)

Lora Sarich enters her second year as the head coach of the University of Northwestern Ohio volleyball program. Sarich was officially introduced as the second coach in program history in March 2013.

In her first season at the helm of the Lady Racers’ program, Sarich led UNOH to a 21-8 record, including a 7-4 mark in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. Her team finished fourth in the WHAC regular season standings, playing their way to a quarterfinal appearance in the WHAC tournament.

A native of Nebraska, she played four years at the University of Toledo, setting school records in digs in a game, digs in a season and digs in a career. She was a four-year starter as a libero for the Rockets. She graduated from Toledo in 2007 with a Bachelors of Arts in Sports Management and a minor in Marketing/Promotions. She is currently pursu-ing a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of West Georgia.

After graduating, she spent one season at the University of West Georgia as a co-head coach, winning the pro-gram’s first Gulf South Conference championship. She then spent a year at the University of Georgia as the Director of Operations for the volleyball program, while coaching UGA’s club team to a national championship.

She has also been on the volleyball staff at the University of Mississippi and at Austin Peay State University (Tenn.) While at Ole Miss, Sarich helped the Rebels to a 19-11 overall record, a fourth-place finish in the Southeastern Con-ference and the school’s third appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

In 2012, Sarich was hired as the head coach at Point University in West Point, Ga., recruiting her entire team in a six-month period. Sarich coached the Skyhawks to a NCCAA South Regional tournament appearance. Three of her players were named second-team All-Region and another was honorable mention.

Sarich resides in Lima.

LiaM EgBERtAssistant CoachFirst Season

Liam Egbert joins the University of Northwestern Ohio volleyball coaching staff for the 2014 season, brining with him an impressive resume of experience.

Egbert last coached in the 2011 campaign, when he was the head coach of the NCAA Division I Austin Peay State University (Tenn.) Lady Governors. Egbert spent only one season with the Lady Govs, posting an 11-20 record.

Prior to Austin Peay, he was a highly-successful assistant coch at both the University of Mississippi and at Furman University. At Ole Miss, he worked as the offensive coordinator, overseeing the team’s setters and middle block-ers as well. Under his tuteledge, the Rebels saw Whitney Craven earn SEC All-Freshman team status, and middle blocker Regina Thomas became their first ever All-America Selection -- earning a third-team All-America nod.

Egbert spent two seasons prior to joining the Rebels with Furman, helping build the program and lead the Paladins to their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2008. At Furman, he helped coach a total of six players who earned All-Southern Conference honors.

A native of Papillion, Nebraska, Egbert graduated from Nebraska in 2007 with a degree in Russian Language and Studies.

Egbert currently resides in Lima.www.orthoohio.com

University of Northwestern Ohio Athletics Hall of Fame

Beginning in 2007, the University of Northwestern Ohio has annually inducted a new class into its Athletics Hall of

Fame, honoring those who helped make UNOH Athletics what it is and continues to become. The classes honor both contributions to UNOH and Northwestern Business College, the institution’s name while athletics were in play before the mid-1980s.

The first inductee to the Hall of Fame was former basketball player and coach Dennis Elwer, who continues to serve the University as the Director of Athletic Alumni Relations. The second class included Larry Blain, who was the University comptroller and continues his long-held duties as the official scorer for volleyball and men’s and women’s basketball.
