“Egypt is the gift of the Nile...Nowhere are there so many marvelous things as in Egypt, nor in the whole world besides are to be seen so many things of unspeakable greatness.”

- Herodotus, Greek scholar

Amazingly, the Egyptian treasures that awed Herodotus nearly 2,500 years ago were almost as far removed from his time as he is from ours. Egypt has stunned and delighted its visitors for millennia, and the Nile River is the gateway to its many gems.

When you sail the Nile onboard the all-suite River Tosca, you’re following the path of pharaohs, traders, invaders, and explorers who for thousands of years have taken in Egypt’s most magnificent sites from the decks of their ships. Now these sites of the Nile—grand cities such as Cairo, Aswan, Thebes/Luxor, and Karnak, along with scenic villages surrounded by luxuriant palm groves and romantic desert hills are yours to discover while sailing onboard the River Tosca.

Join Uniworld on a voyage to experience the glories of the world’s oldest civilization. You’ll discover that taking a cruise along the world’s longest river—the lifeline of both ancient and modern Egypt—is like watching 5,000 years of history and culture unfold before your eyes, and this experience is certain to leave a lasting impression on you for years to come.

We look forward to welcoming you aboard!

Experience the mythical wonders and ancient treasures of Egypt and the Nile

Uniworld designed its newest itinerary, Classic Egypt & the Nile, to take you into the heart of ancient Egypt where you will discover all of its amazing wonders. You’ll be swept away by romantic history and powerful legends as you explore this historic land.

Spend time in the mysterious city of Cairo where the ancient and the modern coexist in perfect harmony. Come face-to-face with the enigmatic Sphinx. Take in the extraordinary sight of the sole survivor of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the 4,000- year-old Great Pyramid of Giza.

Petra and Amman, Jordan – Jordan is blessed with historic cities dating back to Biblical

times. Start your journey in the kingdom’s capital, the city of Amman. Travel north to discover

the treasures of Jerash. Stop at Madaba to see the 6th-century mosaic, the only surviving map

of the ancient Holy Lands. Visit Mount Nebo, where Moses sighted the Holy Land.

The most exciting part of your stay in Jordan will undoubtedly be your first glimpse of the lost

city of Petra, hewn from rose-colored sandstone. Visit the legendary Khazneh, the Treasury,

and the often-filmed lavishly carved sites, amphitheaters, palaces and Roman tombs chiseled

into and through solid rock cliffs. On the way back to Amman visit Shobak, and follow a

5,000-year-old route first mentioned in the Bible, then travel the King’s Highway.

Changes to flight itineraries and name changes may result in penalties charged by the Airline concerned and passed on to the passenger.

Travel Documents

Travel documents will be sent to you approximately 21 days prior to departure from Australia (providing full payment and your completed passenger information form have been received by us). If you are leaving home earlier please ask your Travel Agent to request your travel documents in good time.

General Information and Conditions

•Passport/Visa: A passport with minimum 6 months validity (from return date) is required to travel on all Uniworld programs. Visas may be required, please check with your travel agent. Any visas or other travel documentation required for any particular journey is the sole responsibility of the passenger. Uniworld is not responsible for advice or obtaining travel documentation for any passenger or for any delays, damages and or losses including missed portions of any trip related to improper travel documentation. Uniworld may require passport or other information prior to departure.

•Advanced, Cancelled or Delayed Sailing/Land Tour: Uniworld reserves the right to cancel, advance or postpone any scheduled tour and/or sailing date and may, but is not obligated to, substitute hotels or vessels. Uniworld shall not be liable for any loss to you by reason of any such cancellation, advancement or postponement. In the event of cancellation by Uniworld, your sole right of recourse shall be to obtain a refund of monies paid to Uniworld in connection with such cruise/tour.

•Cruise Participation: Uniworld trips are exciting, relatively active vacations. While there will be plenty of time to relax, there will also be much to see and do. Your included excursions may require an extensive amount of walking over cobblestone streets, uneven pavement, and sometimes steps, so please bring any issues regarding your health or mobility to the attention of Uniworld when making your booking, as this could greatly impact your vacation experience. In addition, you should know that while river cruise ships are spacious and elegant, they are equipped to meet Egyptian standards, and may not have elevators. Accommodations in Egypt may differ from accommodations in Australia. If you are disabled, a companion who will be responsible for providing any required assistance must accompany you, as Uniworld is unable to provide individual assistance. Uniworld has sole discretion to decline the booking of any passenger whose condition may affect his or her own health, safety, and enjoyment, or that of other passengers. Additionally, Uniworld reserves its right to require a current passenger to end his or her trip for the aforesaid reasons.

Transfers: Uniworld will provide complimentary scheduled group transfers to/from the ship/hotel as long as your flights arrive/depart in the cruise/tour starting/ending cities in accordance with the dates shown in this brochure and your flight arrangements comply with the Transfer Guidelines as shown below. There may be a waiting period between transfers of two hours or more unless private car transfers have been purchased. If your flight arrangements arrive/depart outside of these parameters, you may purchase a private car transfer from Uniworld or make your own transfer arrangements. Please ask your travel consultant for appropriate costs during the reservation process. Uniworld will not be responsible for late arrivals or missed transfers due to delayed or cancelled flights, for missed cruise/trip days, or for extra costs resulting from the foregoing. To qualify for transfers, it is required that flight information and pre-trip arrangements for all passengers making their own flight arrangements be given to Uniworld no later than 45 days prior to departure and conform to the following Transfer Guidelines:

Porterage/Baggage: One suitcase per person is allowed. Airlines may have baggage restrictions, please check with your air carrier before your flight. Uniworld is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to baggage and/or personal belongings. Keep an eye on your baggage – it is your responsibility throughout the trip. Uniworld is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to baggage and /or personal belongings.

Itinerary Changes: You can count on the value of Uniworld’s experience and regional knowledge to make sure you enjoy your cruise/tour even when conditions beyond our control occur. The very nature of a river, its sources, and networks of bridges and locks, means that there will be times when weather or other conditions in a region require Uniworld to make adjustments and/or modifications to an itinerary. Although every effort will be made to keep itineraries, vessels, and hotels as they are shown in the brochure, Uniworld reserves the right to substitute itineraries, hotels or vessels. In such cases, we will do everything we can to make sure the locations visited, the excursions taken, and the hotels or vessels offered are similar to the ones originally planned. Any changes to itineraries will not result in eligibility for a refund. Itineraries are subject to change without notice and may need to be altered specifically because of water levels, wind factors, or other conditions.

Extensions/Land Tours: Uniworld reserves the right to reschedule and/or cancel land extensions or land tours if the minimum number of participants (20 people) is not reached or for safety reasons. If you cancel a pre or post extension ninety (90) days or less before departure, penalties as shown on the cancellation scale will apply to the price of the extension. Limited availability applies, book early to avoid disappointment.

Many things are different from those at home, and what you might take for granted in Western countries may not be available during your cruise/tour. To make the most of your cruise/tour holiday through Egypt, please take along your spirit of adventure and willingness to be flexible and tolerant. You will be richly rewarded, because this River Cruise/tour is more than just a holiday; it’s a unique cultural experience you will remember and talk about the rest of your life.
