We asked international students to share their thoughts about the University of Vermont and the Global Gateway Program. This is what they said:

Our students

I chose to study in the USA because an international degree gives you a lot more opportunities, and I wanted to study abroad and not do what every other engineering student in Norway does. UVM has an incredible engineering program and a super cool campus. Jørgen Grav, Norway, Class of 2016 Mechanical Engineering

I joined in the Cynic and became staff writer for the news section. I have more than five articles published. By joining the Cynic I have improved my writing skills, gained experience for being a journalist as well as made lots of friends. Chen Yang, China, Class of 2017 Business Administration

My favorite place on campus is the Davis Center. I enjoy relaxing with friends and playing a game of pool when I’m not in class. It’s conveniently located and has lots of food options as well. Pedro Eduardo Gregio Nascimento, Brazil, Class of 2018 Neuroscience

I live with a Chinese roommate, and I love it. He has been my best friend since I started in the GGP with him. The accommodation is great; there’s a lot of room to personalize it however you want. Alex Gacutan, Ukraine, Class of 2017 Public Communication

UVM is ranked very high for the courses I’m pursuing. I also love how close downtown is to the campus. The people in the community are lovely, very inclusive and very welcoming to other cultures. Akriti Bhargava, India, Class of 2015Political Science and Environmental Studies
