For the post of Professor, Geology & Geo-physics i. An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the field of Applied Geology / Geology/Geophysics / Geo-

informatics / Water resources and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of

published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.

ii. A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in University/College and/or experience in research at the

University/National level Institutions/Industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at

doctoral level.

iii. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching

learning process.

OR

An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant

contribution to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.

For Director, Directorate of Physical Education

i. Ph.D. in Physical Education;

ii. Ten years experience as University Deputy or fifteen years as University Assistant DPEs/College (Selection

Grade)

iii. Participation in at least two national/international seminars/conferences;

iv. Consistently good appraisal reports;

v. Evidence of organizing competitions and conducting coaching campus of at least two weeks duration;

vi. Evidence of having produced good performance teams/athletes for competition like State/National/Inter-

University/Combined University, etc.

For the post of Director, Convocation Complex :

Ph.D. with 10 years Administrative Experience or MBA with equivalent Administrative Experience.

For the post of Director, South / North Campuses:

An eminent scholar with published work of high quality actively engaged in research with ten years of

experience in Post-Graduate teaching and/or experience in research at the University/ National level Institutions

including experience of guiding research at Doctoral level.

OR

5 Years teaching experience as Professor or on an equivalent cadre.

OR

10 years educational administration experience as Associate Professor/Deputy Registrar/Deputy Controller of

Examinations Or an equivalent cadre.

For the post of Director, Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance ( DIQA)

i. An eminent scholar with a doctoral degree in any discipline having standard publications;

ii. Ten years of experience in teaching and/or experience in research at Post-Graduate level;

iii. Having worked as Associate Professor or equivalent on a substantive post for not less than five years.

For the post of Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Technology

i. Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned discipline.

ii. A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is

followed.

iii. A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent

to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry excluding

the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books

and/or research/policy papers.

iv. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching

learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.

For the post of Joint Registrar and Additional Controller of Examinations for Registry(University Main

Campus) and Joint Registrar for North/South Campuses

i. A Masters degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale.

ii. 12 years of experience on a substantive post as Assistant Registrar/Assistant Controller of

Examinations/Assistant Professor /or equivalent position out of which 5 years regular experience must be as

Deputy Registrar/Deputy Controller of Examinations/Associate Professor/ or equivalent positions.

OR

Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other Institution of Higher Education of which at

least 5 years regular experience as Deputy Registrar / Deputy Controller of Examinations/ Associate

Professor/or equivalent positions.

For Deputy Director ,Directorate of Physical Education:

i. Ph.D. in Physical Education. Candidate from outside the University system, in addition, shall also possess at

least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s

Degree level.

ii. Eight years experience as University Assistant DPE/College DPE, with a benefit of two years and one year for

Ph.D. and M.Phil Degree holders;

iii. Evidence of organizing competitions and conducting coaching camps of at least two weeks duration;

iv. Evidence of having produced good performance teams/athletes for competitions like state/national/inter-

university/combined University, etc.

v. Passed the physical fitness test in accordance with these regulations;

vi. Consistently good appraisal reports.

For the post of Deputy Director , Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance (DIQA):

i. Masters Degree from a recognized University with at least 55% marks;

ii. An eminent scholar with a doctoral degree in any discipline having standard publications;

iii. Five years of experience in teaching and/or research experience as Assistant Professor or equivalent on a

substantive post.

For Assistant Director, Directorate of Physical Education:

i. Masters Degree in Physical Education or Master’s Degree in Sports Science with at least 55% marks (or an

equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) with a consistently good academic

record.

ii. Record of having represented the University/College at the Inter-University/Inter-

Collegiate competitions or the State and / or national championships.

iii. Having qualified in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved

by the UGC;

iv. Passed the Physical fitness test conducted in accordance with these regulations;

v. However, candidates, who are, or have been awarded Ph.D. Degree), Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from

the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of

University Assistant Director of Physical Education/College Director of Physical Education & Sports.

For the post of Assistant Director, Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance (DIQA)

Masters Degree in any discipline with at least 55% of marks from a recognized university having qualified

Ph.D. or NET or (SLET in case of J&K State Subjects)

For the post of Placement Officer: (North Campus)

Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading

system is followed) in M.Tech – (CSE) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited

foreign University.

Note: 1. Candidates applying for the posts available in the Directorate of Physical Education shall be required to fulfill

other eligibility conditions as enumerated in Clause 4.6.4 of the UGC Regulations – 2010.

V. Other Eligibility conditions:

i) For the post of Professor and Associate Professor, the candidates are required to have a minimum score of 400 and

300 respectively in the Academic Performance Indicator(API) based Performance Based Appraisal System(PBAS),

set out in UGC Regulations – 2010 in Appendix – III, Table 1 , Category – III of UGC Regulations attached with

the Application Form.

ii) For the post of Director, Physical Education/Deputy Director, Physical Education, the candidates are required to

have a minimum score of 400 and 300 respectively in the Academic Performance Indicator(API) based

Performance Based Appraisal System(PBAS), set out in UGC Regulations – 2010 in Appendix – III, Table –IV,

Category – III (attached with the Application Form).

iii) Candidates must enter the relevant API score in the Part ‘B’ of the Application Form for the post of Professor and Associate Professor and Part ‘C’ for the post of Director, Physical Education and Deputy Director, Physical Education. Each API score must be supported by the documentary evidence, without which no claim on account of API Score would be entertained.

iv) The period of time taken by the candidates to acquire M.Phil and or Ph.D. degree shall not be considered as teaching/research experience to be claimed for appointment to the teaching positions.

v) Candidates applying for the post of Professor/Director, Physical Education shall submit copies of the four sets of the best 5 papers published in journals/books for evaluation;

vi) Candidates applying for the post of Associate Professor/Deputy Director, Physical Education shall submit copies of four sets of the three best papers published in journals/books for evaluation.

vii) The Application form must be accompanied by 10 signed copies of detailed curriculum vitae giving details of academic qualifications, experience, published work etc. the publication part in the CV should invariably contain details with regard to ISSN/ISBN, sole author/Co-authors/Joint publication, refereed/non-refereed/indexed/non-indexed and local/national/international status etc.

VI. Terms and conditions i) Detailed Advertisement Notice along-with the Application Forms is available on the University website

www.kashmiruniversity.net / www.uok.edu.in and be sent to the Recruitment Section along-with the Bank Draft of Rs.500/- pledged to the REGISTRAR, UNIVERSITY OF KASHMIR, SRINAGAR -190006 payable at J&K Bank, Ltd. University Campus, Hazratbal, Srinagar. No Postal Order will be accepted. Cost of application form once deposited shall not be refundable.

ii) Relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55% wherever the grading system is followed by a recognized University shall also be considered eligible.

iii) The appointment shall be governed by the rules and regulations of the University, University Grants and the Union Ministry y of Human Resource Development.

iv) Candidates with Ph.D. degree having passed their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991 having secured 50% or more marks in the Master’s Degree Examination shall also be eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor.

v) Candidates who are with M.Phil/Ph.D should mention against the Column ‘Academic Record’ the name of the University/Institution along-with the name of Guide/Co-guide under whose guidance he/she has completed the degree.

vi) The Vice-Chancellor is empowered to place before the Selection committee suitable persons for its consideration along-with the applications received in response to the advertisement;

vii) Services are transferable between the different Satellite Campuses of the University of Kashmir;

viii) Only those candidates should apply for the posts, who fulfill all eligibility conditions by the last date of submission of Application Forms in the University.

ix) The interview call letters shall be sent under Speed /Registered post. However, the University shall not be responsible for any postal delay/lapse, whatsoever.

x) Applications of Government servants should be sent through the Administrative Authority concerned, the University Employees through the Registrar of their respective Universities. Applications not routed through the respective channels are liable to be rejected. Candidates may send advance copy of the application form along-with the requisite fee (wherever applicable) before the last of receipt of application.

xi) Candidates to be called for interview shall have to produce the original documents relating to their age, qualifications, experience and fitness etc. at the time of interview.

xii) Candidates invited for interview shall not be paid any T.A. and D.A.

xiii) Impersonation or submission of false/fabricated/tampered documents or making incorrect/false statements by a candidate, will, in addition to debarring him / her permanently or for a specific period from any employment in the University, also render him/her liable for criminal prosecution.

xiv) Canvassing in any form by or on behalf of the candidate will lead to disqualification.

xvi) The University reserves the right not to fill up any of the vacancies advertised, if circumstances so warrant, without assigning any reason thereof.

3. The API for joint publications will have to be calculated in the following manner: Of the total score for the

relevant category of publication by the concerned teacher, the first/Principal author and the corresponding

would be shared equally by all other authors.
