“As a quiet and peaceful town, Joensuu is eminently suitable for study and research. Finns are lettered and cordial, although they appear a bit reserved. You have also the unique opportunity to discover the incredible popularity of lakes and explore the deep mystery of the Arctic. In addition to natural and cultural environment, Finland is also a leader in high technology industries led by Nokia, which together with universities and institutes creates a favourable atmosphere of academy and life.”

Wang Xingbo, CIMET student

“We have flexibility for choosing elective courses of our choice, sometimes even from a different department.

I personally like Joensuu as compared to other cities in  Finland. Maybe because it is small and feels like home. University, city centre and supermarkets are near, and the roads are good enough for biking so you can easily access anyplace.”

Sita Pun, IMPIT student
