The Bibliography covers the period of May 1, 1954 to April 30, 1956. Listedherein are the publications of general circulation and the noteworthy scholarlyand professional activities of approximately 180 faculty and staff members from30 departments and offices. University publications and theses presented foradvanced degrees also are given. Independent but affiliated agencies which pub­lish their own bibliographies are not represented.

A few items are included which were omitted from the preceding Bibliography(1952-54).

Standard abbreviations are used throughout. Abbreviations Used in the Depr.wt­ment of Agriculture f01" Titles of Publications, edited by Carolyn Whitlock(Washington, D.C., 1939), was followed. The only unusual abbreviations arePar. Pac., used for the regional periodical Paradise of the Pacific, and IRAC,used for the Industrial Research Advisory Council.
