The Extension Courses in English are designed with the intention of catering to the English language requirements of students and professionals. As this programe meets SriLanka Qualification Framework (SLQF) standards, it creats a parhway to achieve higher educational qualification in their life, and they will be able to meet the challenges in educational and professional settings.
Application Fee : LKR 1000.00
Certificate in English :LKR 25,000/= (LKR 15,000+ 10,000)Advanced Certificate in English: LKR 30,000/= (LKR 20,000+10,000)Diploma in English : LKR 35,000/= (LKR 20,000+ 15,000)Higher Diploma in English :
LKR 40,000/= (LKR 25,000 + 15,000)
(The course fee can be paid in two installments as mentioned above.)
Applicants who hand over applications with relevant documents to the DCEU can receive their admission card from the Registration Desk and the applicants who post their applications can receive their admission cards in the same mode they submitted their applications.
A common placement Test will be administered for the selection of students to follow Certificate, Advanced Certificate and Diploma in English courses. The Placement Test is compulsory to all applicants. This is scheduled to be held on 29/03/2020 at 9.30 a.m. - 11.30 a.m. at the University of Ruhuna.
(No Placement Test for the applicants of Higher Diploma in English.)
The Certificate and Advanced Certificate in English courses consist of 40 teaching sessions. Each session is of 4 hour duration.Classes will be held on weekends only. Applicants will be allowed to select any of the following sessions:
1. Saturday 08.00 a.m. - 12.15 p.m.2. Saturday 12.45 p.m. - 05.00 p.m.3. Sunday 08.00 a.m. - 12.15 p.m.
The Diploma and Higher Diploma in English courses will be held on weekends only, and 08 hours a day.
1. Saturday 08.00 a.m. - 05.00 p.m.2. Sunday 08.00 a.m. - 05.00 p.m.Students can select either session.
Classes are scheduled to commence in May 2020
Duly completed applications with copies of required educational Qualifications, paid bank slip of LKR 1000.00 and a copy of National Identity card / valid passport /driving license should be handed over to the DCEU during 9.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. on working days till 15/03/2020. Also applicants can post their applications with relevant documents mentioned above and a self- addressed stamped (Rs 15.00) envelop to The Assistant Registrar, Distance and Continuing
The applications for the Extension Courses in English can be obtained from the Distance and Continuing Education Unit (DCEU) by handing over the bank slip of LKR 1000.00 deposited to the “University of Ruhuna - Collection Account” through any People’s Bank branch using below mentioned reference number during 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. Or downloaded from the DCEU Website (www.decu.ruh.ac.lk).
