THE MOBILITY PAVILION

Alif - The Mobility Pavilion challenges, surprises and inspires visitors by showing how mobility is all around us and is more than just transport or speed – it also includes mobility of people, goods, data, capital, ideas and culture.

9M

MEET THE GIANTS OF MOBILITYHop onto the world’s largest lift and take a ride straight back to ninth-century Baghdad. Meet three great explorers, Al Bakri, Ibn Battuta and Ibn Majid, and discover their amazing stories.

9

Page 10: UNIVERSE IN MOTION

For thousands of years, animals have powered human mobility- from huskies to horses, our

four-legged friends have helped us move

across the planet.

FROM ANCIENT

EXPLORATION...

Embark on a journey across time and space to explore

the history of movement.

10

The shape of Alif - The Mobility Pavilion is inspired by the infinity loop and conveys a sense of movement, reflecting the truth that mobility is not just powered by the latest gadgets, but also by human imagination transcending time and space.

Page 11: UNIVERSE IN MOTION

How do artificial intelligence, machine learning and big

data help us make smarter decisions – and how will

they be integrated into our lives in the future?

...TO A NEW

WORLD OF POSSIBILITIES

Witness how mobility is driving development and transforming

the future for all humankind.

11

Some butterflies are champions of mobility! They can fly for more than 4800 kilometers, even crossing countries on their journey.

Page 12: UNIVERSE IN MOTION

Going up?

Designed by the award-winning Foster + Partners, Alif - The Mobility Pavilion features the world’s largest passenger lift, which can transport up to 168 people at a time.

Taking off from a semi-underground, partly-open-air 330-meter track and combined with sounds of mobility, the lift operates like a portal, taking visitors through the trajectory of mobility, from the earlier days of exploration to the latest cutting-edge devices.

UAE’S MISSION TO MARS

Discover the UAE’s Mission to Mars, the first planetary science mission led by an Arab country.

The mission aims to answer key questions about the global Martian atmosphere.

IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES

The writing on the astronaut Hazaa Al

Mansoori suit is written backwards. Why is that? All the

text on the astronaut’s suit is written backwards, because

astronauts need to use a mirror to read labels as their helmets

are inflexible.

COUNTRY PAVILIONSYour journey through the Mobility District will include at least one of the following country pavilions to explore that nation’s perspective on the future of mobility.

Angola Pavilion

Witness how the Angolan art of drawing in the sand tells the story of ancient wisdom. By connecting with tradition, Angola is innovating to become one of the world’s fastest growing economies.

Oman Pavilion

Traverse thousands of years of progress and international collaboration in this pavilion, which pays tribute to frankincense, Oman’s ‘gift to the world’. Its exterior resembles the tree that produces this precious resin. Inside, it details its diverse applications – spanning everything from medicine to food to cosmetics.

Russia PavilionThe Russian Pavilion is an extensive showcase of the country’s scientific and cultural heritage combined with the latest cutting-edge technologies created by Russia’s brightest minds. Get insights into how Russia keeps inspiring people around the world today!
