Things to Do at Universal Studios in CaliforniaUniversal Studios is an amusement park and themed entertainment attraction (tematiska nöjes attraktion) in California. It began offering (erbjuda) behind-the- scenes tours in the 1920s, and the park continued to grow from there. The original studio tour is still available (tillgänglig), but Universal also offers newer rides, shows and other attractions based on the popular characters from its movies and television shows.

Studio Tour

The original studio tour gives guests a look at what happens behind the scenes of current (nuvarande) films and shows in production. Rides

Jurassic Park: The Ride takes guests through a world full of dinosaurs. Other rides at the park include Shrek 4D and Revenge of the Mummy.

brings you up-close-and-personal with the coolest cars from The Fast and the Furious films. • Revenge of the Mummy: The Ride - This Universal Studios Hollywood attraction is based around one of the world's fastest roller coasters (berg och dalbanor) in the world. You'll be thrown head-on into the dark, skin-crawling world of ancient (antika) Egypt and there's no way your heart won't be beating a million miles a minute!

• Earthquake Special Effects - There aren't too many people who have experienced an earthquake that rates 8.3 on the Richter scale and lived to tell about it. With the Earthquake simulator at Universal Studios

• Hollywood, you get the chance to see exactly what kind of damage a natural disaster like that would cause, without actually having to risk bodily harm (kroppsskada)!

Shows

Universal Studios also offers shows based on past productions. These shows shows actors and characters dressed exactly like those on screen. The more popular rides are based on shows for children, such as "The Adventures of Curious George." Universal’s Animal Actors shows guests how animals learn to work on stage.

Restaurants

Chef Eric A. Kopelow graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in New York before working at Universal Studios. He now runs all of the restaurants at the park. Guests can dine at Mel’s Diner, which was made to look like the original diner from the television show, or go for a fast food dinner at a Pizza Hut location. A special pass gives guests all they can eat while at the park.

Shopping

Universal Studios also has a number of shopping places covering everything from clothing and toys to collectibles (samlarsaker). One of the more popular pastimes involves pin trading (byta nålar), for which guests purchase a set of pins every year. Throughout the year, the park changes and retires (pensionerar) some of those pins, and guests enjoy tracking (spåra) down the missing pins at in-park stores.
