  • PETITION SUPPORTING DOMINION'S NEWNUCLEAR REACTORS AT NORTH ANNA

We, the undersigned individuals SUPPORT plans by Dominion to secure an Early SitePermit (ESP) to construct new nuclear reactors at its North Anna facility, on the followinggrounds:

    * We concur with the NRC's conclusion that environmental impacts would not preventissuing an ESP for the North Anna site.

    * We believe that nuclear energy is safe, clean, reliable and cost effective, and assuch, it should continue to be an important part of a balanced energy mix.

    * We support the ESP process as a means to facilitate an open and thoroughevaluation of future nuclear projects, while ensuring the timeliness and predictabilityof the process.

    * We commend Dominion for being proactive and farsighted when looking for reliablemethods of addressing expected increases in energy demand over the comingyears, while minimizing the environmental footprint of the selected energy sources,as well as the economic burden to Dominion customers.

Therefore, we urge the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to GRANT Dominion'sapplication for an Early Site Permit. We urge Virginia Department of EnvironmentalQuality to grant Coastal Zone Certification for Dominion's Early Site Permit.

PETITION SUPPORTING DOMINION'S NEWNUCLEAR REACTORS AT NORTH ANNA

We, the undersigned individuals SUPPORT plans by Dominion to secure an Early SitePermit (ESP) to construct new nuclear reactors at its North Anna facility, on the followinggrounds:

" We concur with the NRC's conclusion that environmental impacts would not preventissuing an ESP for the North Anna site.

    * We believe that nuclear energy is safe, clean, reliable and cost effective, and assuch, it should continue to be an important part of a balanced energy mix.

" We support the ESP process as a means to facilitate an open and thoroughevaluation of future nuclear projects, while ensuring the timeliness and predictabilityof the process.
