2013 VA STATE USBC SENIOR TOURNAMENT OFFICIAL RULES(KEEP RULES FOR YOUR REFERENCE)

1. This 10umamenL will be certified by USBC and will begoverned by the rules of that organization.2. The 2013-2014 USBC Playing Rulcs will govern. Other rulesmay apply to this tournamcnt only.3. This will be a handicap doubles and singlcs tournament withtwo separate divisions, OPEN and WOMEN.

Handicap in each age classification will be 100% of230.Within these divisions will be six age classifications, based onage as of September 27th, as follows:Super Seniors: 75 and up; Class I: 70-74; Class 2: 65-69Class 3: 60-64;Class4: 55-59; Class 5: 50-54The Tournament Manager may re-rate any bowler.4. Ellterjno ReauirculgutS:

All participants:I) Must be a current member of USBe.

2) Participants entering the V A State USBC OPENtournament must be a member of VA STATE US Be.

3) Participants in the VA State USBC WOMEN'Stournament must be a member of VA STATE USBC.

4) Non members may panicipate by paying Associate:Adults - national dues ($10.00) plus the actual ducs charged bythe local and state association the bowler is joining. When thelocal and state dues are not known, adult associate dues will be$21.00 ($10.00 Nationa I, $10.00 local and $1.00 state.)

5) Bowlers entered in the doubles event must also enter thesingles. Likewise all singles events entrants must also bowldoublcs evenl. A bowler is not eligible to enter or competc morethan once in the doubles or singles events.5. Averare Rg{JujrgllleuI5,'

USBe Rule 319a-2, 319d, and 31ge is waived.1) Parlicipants must usc their final highest previous

winter league average of 21 games or more;2) If no previous winter average, parLicipant may use

their final highest previous summer league average of 21 gamesor more.

3) If a participant does not have an average for eithcr of'the above, then they may use their highest current season avcragefor a min imum of 12 games as of the day they participate in thetournament.

4) A participant without a qualifying average under theabove ru les wi II be entered with a 230 average.

5) It is the bowler's responsibility to verify the accuracyof their own average, whether originally submitted by the bowler,the team captain or others. Failure to use correct average maydisqualify the score if submitted average is lower than correctaverage, thereby resulting in a lower classification or morchandicap. Prize winnings will be based on the submitted averagc,if it is higher than the correct average. (Rule 319a, Item3).6. tuft'\! fee: The cntry fee will be $20.00 per person per eyentas follows: $7.00 prize fee, $10.00 lineagc fee, and $3.00expense fec. (All-Events fee of $6.00, optional). Entry Fees forboth doubles and singles, plus All Events, is $46.00 per person. No refund of entry feeswill be given after the participant's entryform has been received by tournamcnt management and acon firmation of receipt has been sent.

7. Suhsejtute5: Substitutes will be allowed in any event. Thesubstitute will replace the original bowler in the entry lineup.Substitutes are not required to reimburse the entry fee paid by theoriginal entrant. Substitutes are entitled to all prize winnings.Team Captain may make replacements in the entry by reportingsuch replacements to the tournament office 30 minutes prior tobowling. Substitutes will assume position of original applicant.(Refer 10 USEe Rule 324a). All substitutes will be made inaccordance with USBC Rules 324a and 324b.Tourna ment Management will not be responsible forsecuring substitutes.8. Qrrler oCRqwljnv: All bowlers will bowl in the order listed onentry form. No more than four bowlers will be assigned to eachlane. Bowlers have a preference as to which event bowled first. Ifa bowler wishes to bowl singles one day and doubles the next day,please indicate on the entry (arm in the space provided.9. Offidal Swre: The Center scoring device will be the officialscore and the recap sheet will be the official record after gamescores are entered. The recap sheet will be audited and obviouserrors corrected. Protests must be confirmed in writing to theTournament Manager before the tournament prize payments aremade (USBC Rule 329).10. Prj7.eMqne\!: All prize money will be returned 100% in theevent and division for which it is received. Prize money will bedistributed at a ratio of at least one for every ten entries in eachdivision event. Checks will be mailed to the listed team captainwith in 30 days from completion of the tournament unless anextension has been grallled. Team Captains shall,_ in turn,distribute prize checks within 15 days of receipt.I I. Champions;

I) All-Events Champions in their respective ageclassification in their division (OPEN or WOMEN'S) will havetheir entry fee paid for to enter the USBC National SeniorChampionships. An official USBC tournament shirt will also bepurchased for the champions to wear in the national competition.

2) A woman may participate in both tournaments. Shephysically has to bowl in both. Shc cannot use scores from oneand apply to the oLher. rfshe wins both, she would have todeclare which one she wants to entcr in the National Seniorstournament.

3) lfa tie exists far the championship within an ageclassification, determination of who qualifies for the USBCNational Seniors will be based on the bowler in the tied positionwho has the highest game with handicap. If a tie still exists, thcsecond highest score with handicap, and so forth, will be useduntil the tic is broken.

4) If the all events winner did not pay all events fees,she/he would not receive all events prizc money from thetournament; however, shelhe would be the eligible all eventswinner to go to the National Senior Tournament.12. All decisions of the tournament manager are final.
