Review of tertiary education needs

Collaboration between ENS, NSCC and employer and industry groups to estimate un-met EFTS demand.

» Regular meeting and relationship building between ENS, ER, NSCC employer and industry groups and tertiary providers

» Funded research from APR Consultants and Market Research

» Used findings to lobby the government, local MPs, TEC, and tertiary institutions

Hurstmere Road Campus

A collaboration between ENS and NSCC to assist UNITEC to develop the business case.

» Work with previous tennant and real estate agents

» Economic futures model in association with Market Economics

» Staff resources from ENS and NSCC lent assistance to build the case

» Assistance with project managing consent requirements

North Shore urban fibre network

A collaboration between NSCC and Vector Communications to link education and community facilities with high speed, low cost fibre.

» NSCC provided the contractual vehicle and public front to PPP project

» VCL brought $2 million cash and their existing network

» Attracted $4.5 million from the digital challenge from Ministry of Economic Development

Foreign fee paying students

Developed a collaboration between NSCC and the schools of the North Shore.

» NSCC prepared ‘neutral’ marketing material to ease competative inclinations and habits

» Provided Council and Mayoral support to marketing efforts and to the welcoming of students and delegations

» Worked to leverage student attraction off Council sister city links
