A- Analyze Learners 0 21 Students 0 10 boys and 11 girls 0 1st grade class 0 Average age is 6 and 7 years old 0 No exceptionalities 0 70% of the class are Caucasian, 20% are African-American, and 10% are Hispanic 3. A- Analyze Learners Students have basic knowledge of: 0 Letter and Number recognition 0 Colors 0 Shapes 0 Easy vocabulary 0 Simple sentences 4. A- Analyze Learners 0 Familiar with computers, radios, televisions,projectors, etc. in basic uses 0 All learning styles are present 0 Students now have been introduced to the basics of the identities of the five senses and know them due to the previous days work 5. S- State Objective 0 My first grade class will learn the five senses and whateach sense does with 100% accuracy within four class periods. In addition, the students will learn how each sense is used in everyday life and why it is important. Students will use varied types of technology such as computers, projectors, videos, and speakers to inform them. 6. S- Select Methods, Media, and Materials 0 The available materials that will be used on Tuesdayinclude the computer, speakers, and the projector. 0 The teacher will modify the classroom so that the students chairs allow an easy view of the projection. 0 The teacher will also modify the lighting so that the projection is easily visible. 0 The speakers will be the main source of verbal information 0 New materials that will be designed for this Unit include a YouTube video, a story board, and a podcast. 7. U- Utilize Media and Materials 0 Preview the projections from the computer to ensurethe image is visible and of good quality 0 Ask the students if everyone can easily view the screen 0 The teacher should ensure that everyone can hear the speakers and that it is being played at an appropriate audio level 0 Make sure that the YouTube video, the story board, and the podcast all play successfully 8. R- Require Learner Participation 0 The teacher will begin the class by explaining to thestudents that the class will be taught through videos, pictures, and recordings rather than by a live lesson. 0 Next, the teacher will start the YouTube video that begins by reviewing the five senses. The video goes on to teach the students a song based on the five senses that goes to the tune Old MacDonald. 9. This is the video that will be used on Tuesday. 10. R- Require Learner Participation 0 After watching the YouTube video, the teacher willreview what was learned in the media clip 0 The teacher will then select the Story telling video that will be used to help show how people actually use their senses. 11. This is the Story Telling Video 12. R- Require Learner Participation 0 Like earlier, the teacher will review with the studentswhat they learned in the video, what was important, and what was their favorite part. 0 The teacher will next play the podcast. 13. This is the Podcast 14. Evaluate and Revise 0 The students will be evaluated in multiple ways on thesecond day of the unit. They will be evaluated based on their participation, their interest, and their behavior and manners during the presentations and the exploration of the basic identities, their uses, and their importance of the senses. 0 Students should be able to recite all five senses easily and how they are used. If not, the senses that trouble the students should be emphasized through the remainder of the unit
