OUR ENVIRONMENT
GETTING STARTED
DON’T KILL US
Environment:
The surroundings in which a person, animal, or plant lives or operates.
Environment is everything around us. It can be living or non-living things.
We should keep it clean & safe.
In textbook page 106 & 107, the woodcutter is about to chop down the trees
with his axe.
Tree is asking for life by telling its usages. If trees would be cut down there
will be less shade, food, fresh air & the forest animals will lose their homes.
PRE-LISTENING
A WORLD WITHOUT TREES
There are approximately 3.04 trillion trees on Earth, covering 31% of
world’s land surface.
Around 15 billion trees are cut down each year.
So hypothetically speaking, it would take just over 200 years for the world’s
forests to completely disappear.
Now let’s imagine a world without trees, what would be the consequences
of a tree-free planet? Let’s start with perhaps the most obvious difference –
oxygen concentration.
The world would be full of hot air.
Human beings might die because of hot air.
Less oxygen would be there for human beings.
Animals would be sad because they might lose their shelter (homes).
