BRIEFTo take part in a photo shoot and take 12-24 photographs following one subject or genre.

TYPE OF PHOTOGRAPHYThe type of photography is architectural and landscape. It is architectural because I am photographing buildings and it is landscape because the buildings are landscaped.

UNIT 16 - PHOTOGRAPHY UNIT

EQUIPMENTI used a Nikon 1 J1 camera in white to take the photographs with the standard 10-30mm lens. I also borrowed Freddie’s Sigma lens which is 70-300mm. I did not use a tripod as it would of been extra baggage to take around central London.

LOCATIONThe location of the shoot was in London, in various areas of the city including Camden, Embankment, Chelsea etc.

PEOPLEThere are no people in my photography apart from random visitors in the background, there are no people because I am photographing still objects and buildings

ESTIMATED TIMEThe estimated time for my shoot is 5 hours because it involves a lot of travelling on the underground and also time to get to London on the train.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONSSafety considerations involve traffic as London is very busy, full of different types of vehicles from lorries to buses. I also need to be aware of the River Thames, because of photographing Big Ben and Tower Bridge, which are close to the river.

LEGAL + ETHICALI need to take into consideration during my photography that I have permission to take photographs in certain places. For example, in Camden Market there are various signs put up outside some of the market stalls saying ‘No Photographs Please’ so I have to follow the rules and requests by respecting the signs and not take photographs.

BUDGETThe budget of the whole photoshoot is £20 because this is the only money that is needed for the shoot. This is because the places I am photographing are free to sightsee and they are in open places. The only cost I have to pay is for the train ticket which is the £20, from Cambridge to London and exclusive underground use.

WEAKNESSESThe top half of the London Eye was cut off in the original photograph and it would have been nice to have the whole of the structure. Also I should have blurred out Big ben in the background so all the photograph focal point was on the London Eye.
