THE FOCUS OF STUDY IN THIS UNIT IS ON DEVELOPMENTS AND CHANGES OVER A BROADER TIMESCALE AND LEARNERS STUDY A RANGE OF SIGNIFICANT TOPICS SPANNING A SUBSTANTIAL DURATION.

WE HAVE ATTEMPTED TO PROVIDE MORE DETAILED GUIDANCE ON THE CONTENT TO BE TAUGHT.

WE HAVE ATTEMPTED TO STRUCTURE EACH PERIOD STUDY SO THAT IT CAN BE COMPLETED IN FOUR HALF TERMS OF STUDY.

WE HAVE PROVIDED A ONE YEAR COURSE AT AS IN YEAR 12 BUT WE DO ACCEPT THAT IT IS TOUGHER AND MORE CHALLENGING THAN THE CURRENT COURSE.

APPLYING THE MARK SCHEMEThe mark scheme has two parts:

- Indicative content

- A generic grid split into mark bands

1. Identify the correct band from the descriptors

2. Select an appropriate mark from how securely the answer sits in the band

3. Use middle mark as a default and either confirm this or look to move to the higher mark in the band or, if necessary, to the lower mark in the band
