Its our job to fi nd you a job and well do what it takes to make that happen. Luckily weve spent the last 10 years collecting the goods on all things grad. Weve also got the lowdown on what employers want and look for. There are, after all, two sides to the employment story and we tell them both. No puffery, no pretense, no holds barred. Whether youre stuck in your job search, want to fi nd out who the best employers are, or why pigs dont fl y in the middle of July, ask away. Were especially good with those awkward questions. When I was a student seeking graduate opportunities it was hard to know where to start. The unigrad book really helped me narrow down my choice and I am now fortunate enough to be a marketing graduate on the Australia Post program. unigrad was the place where I was initially attracted to the great program that Australia Post had to offer. Dont miss your opportunity; check out unigrad because your career could be waiting for you just like it was for me.

Everyone has weaknesses. Its not the

easiest question to answer, but it always

comes up so be prepared. Think of two or

three weaknesses and give examples of

what youre doing to improve on them. For

example, provided the job doesnt require

public speaking, you could say that youre

not a comfortable public speaker. But go

on to say that youve joined a

    Toastmaster club or public speaking

    course to overcome the problem.

That may be the case, but its probably not a good idea to refer to corporate work as such. You have to start somewhere. Feel free to think big but understand the journey it takes to get there.

It may have worked for Cuba Gooding Jrs loudmouthed character in Jerry Maguire, but this isnt an audition for a movie and chances are youre not a professional American football player.

    It shows ambition

    to share

    your aspirations, b

    ut do

    your research. One

Fail! Remember to check your application before you submit it. Check it once, check it twice, check it three times over. When youre satisfi ed its OK, get someone else to check it again.

I HAVE GRATE WRITEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Theyre nerve-wracking, gut-wrenching, sleep-sapping things. Whether youve been to 10 or none, interviews tend to make most of us feel a little sweaty under the collar. But they dont have to. With enough research, prep and the right attitude, they can be like a casual catch up with your BFF. Almost. Just dont get too cosy with the interviewer, or you might blow it.Like these grads did

Thanks, Mr Benetton, but that really doesnt tell me much about anything. Dont try to impress with creativity in your resume. Tell it like it is. Employers want facts not try-hard, nonsensical statements.

Whether its true or not, its not a quality thats

looked upon favourably by employers. It pretty

much says, Im not a team player and I wont

listen to what others have to say.

As part of a personal branding statement: My flavour is rainbow.

I LOVE INTERVIEWS IT GIVES ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO TALK ABOUT MYSELF

Can you hear that? Thats the

    sound of stunned silence. An

icebreaker is a great way to

shift gear in an interview. Just

    keep it appropriate. Youre

    speaking to a potential

    employer, not a potential date.

Dont I look hot in this business suit?
