2018 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
This is a $1,000.00 medallion scholarship award for one middle level student and one high school student
in each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia in grades 5-12 who have participated in volunteer
activity after September 1, 2016. State-Level Honoree Scholarship winners will also be awarded and
all-expense-paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington, D.C. in late April. Five middle level
students and five high school students will also be named National Honorees as America's top youth
and will receive an additional $5,000, a gold medallion and a trophy for their school or organization.

Hagan Scholarship Foundation
This is a minimum $1,000.00 scholarship for high achieving students who will require financial
assistance in order to attend college. Four year Scholarship can be worth up to $40,000.00, with the
average over four years being $24,000.00. Finalists interviewed who do not receive a higher amount

The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the
2018 competition.
Current high school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States are eligible to

Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks.

Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed;

The 2018 Most Valuable Student scholarship contest is open to any high school senior who is a US

The 20 top finalists will participate in an all expenses paid Leadership Weekend in Chicago during which
they’ll interview with the national judges. These 20 finalists will be vying for two first-place awards of
$50,000; two second-place awards of $40,000; and two third-place awards of $30,000. The remaining 14
finalists will receive awards of $20,000. The 480 runners-up will receive fifth-place scholarships of
$4,000.

The Wells Fargo Scholarship Program for People with Disabilities is designed to help people with
disabilities obtain the education or training necessary to succeed in the career path of their choice.
To apply, you must have an identified disability (defined as someone who has, or considers themselves to
have, a long-term or recurring issue that impacts one or more major life activity). Applicants must be high
school seniors or graduates who are planning to enroll (or who are already enrolled) in full- or half-time

Legacy Awards are $4,000 scholarships for children and grandchildren of Elks members. The Foundation
will offer a total of 300 awards in the 2018 contest, an increase of 50 awards. Who is Eligible?

Generation Ali Global Citizenship Scholarship The Generation Ali Global Citizenship Scholarship Program, sponsored by The Muhammad Ali Center, is
offering scholarships inspired by Muhammad Ali’s six core principles: Confidence, Conviction,

greatness through education.

BOILERMAKERS APPRENTICESHIP The Great Lakes Area Boilermakers Apprenticeship Program applications are being accepted in a number
of locations. The third Tuesday of every month from 9:00AM to 11:00AM applications are being
accepted at Local #647, 3400 42nd Street, NW, Mandan, ND 58554. Contact any counselor for other
dates and locations in Fargo, South Dakota and Minnesota. Applicants who have a welding certification

NDSCS-Educating the Electrical Industry This year our department has about $50,000 in scholarships for those interested in pursuing a career in the

Career Power-Up with IEC This is a four year electrical apprenticeship recognized by U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of
Apprenticeship Program and Training. You can become a journeyman electrician and earn college credits.
IEC-Dakotas offers classroom and online training. This training will open the door for multiple

United Technologies Aerosplace Systems Tuition Sharing/Reimbursement Program This program is open to 1st or 2nd year students that attend a 2-year accredited Machinist Training
