JOIN US FOR A MAGICAL SHOW THIS CHRISTMAS…
25 NOv – 13 JAN
The Prince and The PauPeradapted by Jemma Kennedy from the novel by Mark Twain Running Time: 2hrs with interval
Set in a Tudor London so vibrant you can smell the potato peelings, poor Tom Canty has a chance meeting with the young Prince Edward – and by pure coincidence they find themselves catapulted into each other’s lives. A rare chance to see Mark Twain’s classic story re-imagined for a contemporary audience.

a MeSSaGe FrOM The unicOrn TeaM Whether you are a frequent visitor or this is your first trip to the Unicorn we want you and your class to feel at home when you arrive. Each of our shows is accompanied by an interactive area in the foyer, which we encourage you and your class to visit either before or after the show. These areas are spread around the building but are always supervised by our ushers.
We ask that inside the auditorium, there are no photos, no phones and no food. We prefer not to shush students if there is a bit of nervous chatter but our ushers will remove items that rustle, flash or beep.As ever the Front of House ushers are here to help; if you have any queries during your visit please approach one of them.

It has been a year of change in the education sector, and since
taking over as Director last September, I’ve been very aware of
the considerable pressures teachers face when planning extra-
curricular activities. But I believe passionately that by working
together, schools and theatres can continue to invent new
ways of making sure that students are given opportunities to
experience live theatre, and that the arts continue to play a part
in all our lives.
Over the last few months, the Unicorn has been building a
reputation in the national press for its unusual and innovative
productions, and I’m absolutely delighted to be able to annouce
our schools programme for 2012-3.

This new adaptation turns the world of the Winter’s Tale on its head. In a brilliantly funny play within a play, four performers tell Shakespeare’s story of kings, queens and bears in the forest. Playground rules meet royal politics in this introduction to Shakespeare’s late comedy.
20 NOv - 2 DeC
The Tear ThieFa Little Angel Theatre production
Each night, the Tear Thief carries her waterproof, silvery sack and steals the tears of every child who cries. But what does she do with all those tears? This warm, poignant story is a thought-provoking starting point into exploring children’s emotional worlds.
Based on the book by Carol Ann Duffy
A crumpled old man with glittering eyes stops you in your tracks and starts to tell you a story – a tale of death, doom and destruction that takes you deep down into the murky depths of your imagination. Would you dare to follow him?
Based on Coleridge’s The Rime of the Ancient Mariner
Tim Crouch, one of Britain’s most unusual and innovative theatre-makers, re-imagines Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night from the point of view of Malvolio, in a brilliant one-man show that invites the audience to explore self-knowledge, bullying and shame.
Is life more important than how you live it? Dr Korczak passionately advocated every child’s right to respect and understanding. Award-winning playwright David Greig’s powerful play introduces students to the Holocaust and asks questions about our rights and responsibilities.
Acclaimed writer E V Crowe’s latest play is a contemporary tale about the world of Grace, a young girl who knows the truth can be dangerous. Where does her allegiance lie and where do the lies stop? E V Crowe is widely regarded as an inspiring voice for and about teenagers’ experience in Britain today.
