Hiking on the Segnesboden Cable car Flims-Naraus

The Sardona Tectonic Arena has been on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 2008. You can get there from Flims with the „Foppa-Naraus“ chairlift. From the top station at Naraus, a beautiful high path takes you to the Segneshütte. From there you get a great view of the Tschingel-horns and the Sardona UNESCO Tectonic Arena. Carry on then to the Nagens Alp where you can enjoy a cold platter or a home-baked flan at the restaurant „La Stalla“. From there, a bus takes you back to Laax, departing six times a day. Alternatively, you can hike back to the Naraus mountain station of the chairlift.

Free time in the morning in Bergün

This morning you’ll be spoilt for choice. How would you like to learnmore about the Rhaetian Railway and move around a bit at the sametime? Then go for a hike on the railway educational trail. When theweather isn’t being entirely cooperative, we suggest a visit to the Railway Museum. Or you can survey the Rhaetian Railway’s most impressive viaduct:the Landwasserviaduct.

At 14:14, your journey continues to St. Moritz. Here you’ll have an hour to look around before setting off on your trip to Poschiavo at 15:48. Arrive in Poschiavo at 17:32.

It starts with the ascent to the roof of the Rhaetian Railway, the Ospizio Bernina at 2253 metres above sea level. The view of the MorteratschGlacier and the world-famous Montebello Curve are perfect proof ofhow the railway pioneers were also thinking about tourists when theyplanned the railway line. The train travels further along the Lago Bianco and Laj Neir to Alp Grüm, the only restaurant with a rail-only connection.

Spend the night in the historic Hotel Albrici right in Poschiavo‘spicturesque village square. Mountain air lovers have the option of overnighting in the unique Hotel Alp Grüm.

In the numerous shops, you’ll find delicious specialities from ValPoschiavo, from organic cheeses to brasciadela, the typical roundbread made of rye flour, along with the finest sausages and meats –ideal for a picnic as you continue on your journey.www.valposchiavo.ch/en

Speaking of journeying onwards, in Brusio you’ll encounter the unique circle viaduct, a stroke of genius on the part of the Bernina railwayengineers. If the train were a little longer, it would drive through itselfhere! To enjoy your journey across the unique circle viaduct by Brusio,be sure to board the train by 12:23 at the latest.

During your 45-minute wait, you’re best off stretching yourlegs a little or eating a fine gelato before resuming yourjourney at 13:45. From Tirano, continue with the postbus via the Stelvio Line, which links the Valtellina with the Münster Valley and which also accesses Switzerland’s highest post-bus stop at the Stelvio Pass (2757 metres above sea level).

Following breakfast at the hotel, the programme takes you on a visitto the Convent of St. John. The guided tour through the monastery’schurch and museum immerses you in the daily Benedictine routine asyou learn interesting facts about this UNESCO World Heritage site.

Mass takes place on Sunday mornings, and there are no guided toursduring this time. At the close of the Mass, the tours resume theirregular schedule (from about 12:00).

At 13:28, the postbus brings you to Zernez. From here, you can eitherdirectly return home, or you can visit a variety of attractions in Zernezor Val Müstair.

Optional:Enjoy the unspoilt natural surroundings of the Swiss National Park onthe ride to Zernez. To learn even more about this marvelous naturallandscape, we recommend a visit to the National Park Centre inZernez as a conclusion.
