• Setting up MIFF (Malaysian Institute of Freight Forwarders) as a National Body to accredit and certify Logistics Professionals. This is opened to candidates who fulfil the criteria set and may be awarded the relevant membership category:

• Fellow • Member • Associate • Student member

We hope an Asean Institute of Freight Forwarders (AIFF) can be set up so that National Associations members can be duly recognized by AIFF.

• Encouraging young people to join the logistics industry. There is a YLP (Young

Logistics

Program) in the

forthcoming FIATA

World congress hosted by FMFF. We intend to follow-up with strategies to work with tertiary institutions and companies with software/applications and IOT to add value to the logistics industry.

We have produced a video to be used at career fairs or talks

We have also requested that the training grant to cover non-FMFF members which would include the personnel of importers, exporters, traders and manufacturers engaged in logistics and shipping. Ultimate objective is that we will have trained and professional manpower to improve the overall efficiency of the logistics and transport industry.

FMFF have secured two grants, the first one was for

RM500.000.00 and the second for RM2.92 million to train our members and staff.

The two programmes covered under these two grants are

UNESCAP Multimodal Transport program, which has

been enhanced to an 8 days course from earlier 4 days

course and the FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding.

NOSS (National Occupations, Skills and Standards)

Department have appointed FMFF as an Industry Lead Body for

the logistics industry.
