Fanning is Vice President, New England Area Manager & Counsel of the Fidelity National Title Group. He gradu-ated summa cum laude from Providence College in 1975 and earned his Juris Doctorate at Duquesne University School of Law in 1978. Prior to joining Chicago Title in 1984, Phil was engaged in the general practice of law concentrating in the area of real estate conveyancing. He has lectured at the University of Connecticut School of Law as well as at many continuing education programs. He is a member of the Hartford County Bar Association, the Executive Committee of the Real Estate Section of the Connecticut Bar Association and the Connecticut Title Association. He is a corporate member of the Real Estate Finance Association, (REFA) and CREW CT. and is a Past President of the New England Land Title Association.

Denis R. Caron, VP/Counsel | 860-760-2704 | denis.caron@fnf.comDenis has been in the title insurance industry since 1985, after spending a number of years in private practice. He is the co-author of Connecticut Foreclosures: An Attorney's Manual of Practice and Procedure (The Connecticut Law Tribune Company, 6th ed. 2016). He is also a contributing author to Dunaway, The Law of Distressed Real Property (Clark-Board-man-Callahan). He has served as an advisor to the Connecticut Law Revision Commission and to the Office of Legislative Research, and is a frequent lecturer at seminars on a variety of real property topics given by the Connecticut Bar Associ-ation and private organizations.

Denis is a graduate of St. Anselm College and The University of Connecticut School of Law. He is an elected fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. Since 2004, he has served as chairman of the Standards of Title Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association, and he is also an Emeritus member of the Executive Committee of the Real Property Section of the CBA. He is past chairman of the Real Property Committee of the Hartford County Bar Association, and also a past president of the Connecticut Title Association.

She is well versed in the TRID rules and Best Practices. She also is very well versed in software programs to assist our agents. Marina conducts seminars for the company on various topics in the real estate field and provides individual seminars for agents who request it. Prior to joining the title industry, she was in private practice in 1999 where she practiced real estate law and supported commercial and residential closings. Marina received her Bachelor of Arts from Quinnipiac College and earned her Juris Doctorate from Pace Law School. She is a member of the Fairfield Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association.

He is presently State Counsel for the Fidelity National Title Group. Bill has been a member of the Connecticut Bar since 1975 and was in private practice prior to joining the title insurance industry. He graduated magna cum laude from Boston College in 1972 and earned his juris doctorate from Villanova School of Law. Bill is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the New England Land Title Association and is a former president of the Connecticut Title Association. For many years he taught title searching as an adjunct professor at the University of Hartford Legal Assistant Program and the Hartford College for Women Legal Assistant Program.

Barbara C. Smith, VP/Counsel | 860-290-5385 | barbaracsmith@fnf.comBarbara has over thirty years’ experience in commercial and residential real estate transactions, focusing on complex commer-cial and residential title examinations both in private practice and in the title insurance industry.

She is admitted to the Connecticut Bar, and a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the New England Land Title Association. She is also a member of the Board of Director’s of NELTA. She co-presented The Title Search: What You Need to Know for Continuing Legal Education through the Connecticut Bar Association. Barbara has taught real estate law to Connecti-cut real estate agents and brokers through the Office of Continuing Education at the University of Connecticut.

She received her Juris Doctorate from Brigham Young University and her Bach-elor’s Degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Connecticut. She is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor’s Society. She is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Real Property Section. She is an Associate Profes-sor at Post University. She is a Board Member of the Connecticut Title Association, CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) and the Waterbury Bar Association. She is the Chair person of the CBA Residential Real Estate Specialization Committee.

Thomas A. Covill, VP/Counsel | 860-760-2717 | tom.covill@fnf.comTom Covill has been in the title insurance industry since 1989. Prior to that, he engaged in the private practice of law for eighteen years, which included a heavy emphasis on real estate and related issues. He received his Juris Doctorate from Suffolk Law School and his Bachelor’s Degree from Providence College and has been a member of the Connecticut Bar since 1971. Tom is a former Town Counsel for the Town of Hebron as well as a former member of the Hebron Board of Assessment Appeals. He is also a former President of the Connecticut Title Association, and is presently a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Eastern Connecticut, for which he serves on the Family Support Committee, and conducts a required program on Wills for the new homeowners.

Edward M. Rosenblatt, VP/Counsel | 860-290-8526 | edward.rosenblatt@fnf.comEdward’s responsibilities include title insurance underwriting, claims, release tracking management and attention to legal issues for both commercial and residential matters. He has been in the title insurance industry since 2003. Prior to that, he was in private practice for 23 years in all aspects of real estate law and related litigation. He attended law school at the University of Connecticut. Ed is past Chair of the Executive Committee of the Real Property Section of the CBA and Executive Committee member since 1987. He is currently chair of the Real Property Section’s committee on the residen-tial real estate certification and serves on the Section’s legislative committee.

He has been in the Title Insurance industry the past 15 years. He graduated from New York Law School, where he was valedictorian and managing editor of the law review.
