UNDERSTANDING THE CIML The Central Iowa Metropolitan League (CIML) will change with the start of the 2012- 2013 school year in August. With the upcoming addition of Ankeny Centennial High School to the league in 2013-2014, league member schools began the process of realignment in April 2010. After a year’s worth of study and debate, the new look CIML was formed. Although Ankeny Centennial will not join the fold until 2013-2014, league members pressed ahead with realignment for the 2012-2013 school year due to the cycle of schedules. The current schedule cycle expired at the conclusion of the 2011-2012 school year. A new, four-year cycle of scheduling will begin this fall (2012-2013 school year). UNDERSTANDING THE CIML

The Central Iowa Metropolitan League (CIML) will change with the start of the 2012-2013 school year in August. Information by Sport

Football Division Football, called District Football in all classes but Class 4A, is now present in Western Iowa. With this, the IHSAA controls the scheduling of all games at the Varsity level. Teams are assigned to a Division of 6 teams (one Division of 5 in 2012 due to the fact Ankeny Centennial is not yet participating) and will compete against Division opponents to determine their playoff fate. In the playoffs, the #1 Seed in Division 1 will play the #4 Seed in Division 2; the #2 Seed in Division 1 will play the #3 Seed in Division 2 in the playoffs, and so on. All-Division: All Division teams will be selected by the coaches with a total of 15 players representing each school on 1st and 2nd teams as well as an Honorable Mention team.
