Transcript of Understanding spiritual warfare
A SPECIAL NOTE:THE PURPOSE OF THIS TEACHING IS THAT WE MAY BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND THE GOODNESS OF GOD, AS OPPOSED TO THE EVILNESS OF THE DEVIL. THESE TWO PARAMETERS ARE OFTEN BLURRED AND CONFUSED: WHEREBY EVIL IS WRONGFULLY ATTRIBUTED TO GOD, THE FATHER OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. UNDERSTANDING THE GOODNESS OF GOD IS FIRST AND FOREMOST IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE, IN ORDER TO BUILD THE KIND OF FAITH THAT WILL MOVE MOUNTAINS, AND FULFILL GOD'S PROMISE OF VICTORY IN OUR LIVES.
Ephesians 6:12 (NIV)
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)

Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)

Principalities is understood by the Greek word, archemeaning: chief or ruler. These principalities are ruling devil
spirits possessing executive authority or governmental
rule in the world. As we will see, this ruling power usually
involves a particular nation, organization, people or race.
There are evil angels ruling the kingdoms of the world that
oppose the truth of God, and of which Satan is the chief
prince or ruler, of both the world system and its
organization of demons.

Principalities
Powers and Rulers of the darkness
The Greek word for "powers" is exousia which means
derived or conferred authority, the warrant or right to do
something, or delegated influences of control. This would
include all high-ranking, evil supernatural powers and the
power of sin and evil in operation in the world. The fruits of
this type of evil can probably be seen in drug cartels,
gross poverty, plagues, terrorism, and other heinous
crimes against humanity, even toward the animal
kingdom.
Christian authors also associate "world rulers" with magic
and demonic pagan gods such as the Ephesians' Artemis
and seems to be in line with the pagan culture of ancient
times, in which temples were dedicated to these demonic
pagan deities.
2 Kings 16:3
Deut 18:9-12
Spiritual wickedness in high places
The Greek word for wickedness is ponēria and means
depravity and particularly in the sense of malice and
mischief, plots, sins, and iniquity (Strong's Gk. Dict.).
Since Satan is the prince of the power of the air, these
wicked spirits, in high places, are often understood to be
the collective organization of all of Satan's devil
spirits. These malevolent spirits work evil and mischief
and operate in our atmosphere. They operate as close to
the very air we breathe, and reach to realms beyond. All
kinds of spiritual filth are propagated , in these realms, for
the purpose of humanity's deception and subsequent
destruction. Prior to becoming a Christian we too walked
according to the prince of the power of the air.

Ephesians 2:2
By: Satan
Satan’s goal:
The destruction of humanity; he knows his judgment is coming. He knows what salvation is, and what the
saved have in store. So his goal is simple, to prevent humanity from coming to salvation and to deceive
Christians from living out the truth.
Satan’s Battleground:
The mind is the territory he seeks; control of the physical just follows the control of the mind. All for the
purpose of blinding the person from the Gospel. How we think, the inner-man guides our perceptions. Here is
where Satan is at work, and here is where scripture warns us to guard. God’s word implores us to be of one
mind, and to guard our mind, against the ways of this world.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5
For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we
fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to
demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up
against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to
Christ.
Ephesians 2:17
Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

There is no struggle between God and the devil. The struggle is about principles, conformity to the
will of God given to us in His Word. Understanding what kind of danger lurks around us and the
devils want to ruin the life of men.
1 Peter 5:8
God’s people should always conform themselves to God’s image. (God’s character)
Romans 12:2
God’s people are called to complete obedience on the basis of scripture not lacking in anything
which the grace of God guarantees, less we be defeated.
