In Summary■ For Works Cited entries:

– More universal model for citations– No more book publisher locations– Access dates and URLs (no angle

brackets) are optional for web resources, so be sure to specify your preferences to your students

– Common terms in the Works Cited list like editor, edited by, translator, and review of are no longer abbreviated

– When a source has 3 or more authors, only the first one shown in the source is normally given. It is followed by et al.

– Page numbers in the Works Cited list (but not in in-text citations) are preceded by p. or pp.

– Volume numbers are preceded by vol. and issue numbers are preceded by no.

– If no date is found, omit it completely (n.d. is no longer used); if a date is found in an outside source, list it in brackets

– If an organization is listed as both author and publisher, they should be listed as the publisher with no author given

– The type/medium of publication is no longer listed (unless for clarity)
