"Yes" or "No?"One of the things I have learned in my life as a member ofthe church and a minister, is when to say "no" and when tosay "yes." What I mean is that I need to prioritize my time.It is not possible for me to attend every function that I getinvited to. So how do I choose which ones to attend?

• I ask God to lead me to the place where He wants me tobe

• I ask my elders or a trusted Christian friend for theirspiritual insight and advice

• I weigh the benefit of my activity on the spiritual well-being of myself, my church, my family, and my friends.

As we come into a New Year, I want us all to consider ourinfluence on our church, our families, and our friends. Like itor not, how we go as individuals is how our church, ourfamilies and our friends go.

I personally invite you to prayerfully consider attending PrayerMeeting on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am, and Sunday Schoolat 10:00 am. Ask God to give you wisdom in response to myinvitation, seek the counsel of our elders or a trusted Christianfriend, and carefully consider the influence this will have onyourself, your church, your family, and your friends.

If God does not inspire you to attend, it is a decision betweenyou and Him. What will your answer be, "yes" or "no?"

"WATER WALKING··The year 2011 was incredible for Erastus Christian Church! We saw our morning worship attendanceaverage go from 109 in 2010 to 123 in 201l! We experienced 16 baptisms and 16 transfers alongwith many new people being involved in the ministries at Erastus. We give God the glory for what Hehas done!

As we begin 2012 with a new sermon series, I want to invite you to consider the incredible potentialthat awaits you outside of your comfort zone. Out on the risky waters of Faith, Jesus is waiting tomeet you in ways that will change you forever, deepening your character and your trust in God.Walking on water is terrifying. It is thrilling beyond belief. It is everything you would expect ofsomeone worthy of being called "Lord."

The choice is yours to know Him as only a "water-walker" can, aligning yourself with God's purposefor your life in the process. There is just one requirement .... if you want to walk on water, you've gotto get out of the boat!
