Officials at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital,where Mohanan was being treated,said,He had sustained 98 per cent burns. He succumbed to his injuries at 11.56 pm on Friday. Mohanan had allegedly immolated himself at Gate No. 4 of the Parliament House around 5.15 pm on Thursday. In a diary recovered by the police,Mohanan who hails from Cheruvannur in Kozhikode had written in Malayalam why he was taking the extreme step. He was reportedly disturbed by Sandeeps death,and the way the victims of the Mumbai attacks were being treated by the government. He was also disturbed by the death of Sandeep. He wanted to feel the pain he might have suffered when he was shot at by the terrorists, said a senior police officer on the condition of anonymity. Mohanan was the younger brother of Sandeeps father,K Unnikrishnan. Unnikrishnan,who arrived here on Friday to see his brother,said: Whatever Mohanan has written is his personal opinion. Our son has received all respect from the Government of India. Mohanan was very fond of Sandeep. We thought he had overcome Sandeeps loss but he ended up doing this. Sandeep Unnikrishnan,who was in the National Security Guard,died during the terrorist attack on the Taj Hotel in Mumbai in November 2008. Police also recovered a train ticket and notebook from Mohanan,who had arrived in the Capital two days ago after reportedly telling his family that he was going to Kerala. After the post-mortem examination,his body was taken to Kerala,where the last rites would be performed. Mohanan is survived by his wife,son and daughter. K Mohanan,the paternal uncle of 26/11 martyr Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan,has

succumbed to burns sustained during a suicide bid. Officials at the Ram

Manohar Lohia Hospital,where Mohanan was being treated,said,He had

sustained 98 per cent burns. He succumbed to his injuries at 11.56 pm on Friday.

Mohanan had allegedly immolated himself at Gate No. 4 of the Parliament House
