AGREEMENT
I (we) acknowledge the "Rules Applying to Registration and Dog Shows" and, if this entry is for an obedience trial, the
"Obedience Regulations," have been made available to me (us), and that I am (we are) familiar with their contents. I (we)
waive any and all claims, causes of action, I (we) might otherwise have against the AKC and any AKC approved judge,
judging at this show, under AKC Rules, Regulations and Guidelines. I (we) agree that the club holding this show or
obedience trial has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem to be sufficient. In consideration of
the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of the show or obedience trial and of the opportunity to have the dog
judged and to win prize money, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold this club, its members, directors, governors,
officers, agents, superintendents or show secretary and the owner or lessor of the premises and any employees of the
aforementioned parties, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or
indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or upon the show or obedience trial premises or grounds
or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we)
further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss of this dog by disappearance, theft,
death or otherwise, and from any claim for damage or injury to the dog, whether such loss, disappearance, theft, damage
or injury, be caused or alleged to be caused by the negligence of the club or any of the parties aforementioned, or by the
negligence of any other person, or any other cause or causes.
I (we) hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify and save the aforementioned parties harmless
from any and all loss and expense (including legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the
aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injuries, including death at any time resulting there from, sustained
by any person or persons, including myself (ourselves) or on account of damage to property, arising out of or in
consequence of my (our) participation in this show or obedience trial, howsoever such injuries, death or damage to
property may be caused, and whether or not the same may have been caused or may be alleged to have been caused by
negligence of the aforementioned parties or any of their employees or agents, or any other persons.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. (Variety) if you are entering a dog of a breed in which there are varieties for show purposes, please designate the
particular variety you are entering, i.e.,Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, parti-color. Beagles (not exceeding
13 in.,over 13 in. but not exceeding 15 in.). Dachshunds (longhaired, smooth, wirehaired). Collies (rough, smooth).
Bull Terriers (colored, white). Manchester Terriers (standard, toy) Chihuahuas (smooth coat, long coat). English Toy
Spaniels (King Charles and Ruby, Blenheim and Prince Charles). Poodles (toy, miniature, standard).
2. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions
of Record and dogs which according to their owners records, have completed the requirements for a championship,
but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is
limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a
championship.
3. (Dog Show Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the dog show class in which you are entering your
dog is divided, then , in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are
entering your dog, i.e., age division, color division, weight division.
4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for a show closed.
If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner, it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any
show for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has
received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name. State on entry form
whether transfer application has been mailed to A.K.C. (For complete rule refer to Chapter 14, Section 3).

STUD DOG CLASS: Stud dogs with two or more of their Get. Stud dog must be entered in
this class and must be present in the ring with their Get. Owner of the stud dog need not be
owner of the Get. Entry fee is $ 15.00 for stud dog and get as a unit.
BROOD BITCH CLASS: Brood Bitches and two or more of their Produce. Brood bitch
must be entered in this class and must be present in the ring with their Produce. Owner of
brood bitch need not be the owner of their Produce. Entry fee is $ 15.00 for the brood bitch
and produce as a unit.
PARADE OF VETERANS: (non-competitive) Open to all dogs and bitches, champion and
non-champion, who are 8 years and older on the day of the show. There is no entry fee For
Veterans.
PARADE OF RESCUE: (non-competitive) Open to all Afghan Hounds who have been
adopted through a rescue organization. Please advise and encourage others you might know,
who have adopted rescued Afghans, to enter and be a part of this parade. There is no entry fee
for rescue parade (it is not necessary that all categories on the entry form be filled in)
JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP: AKC Junior Handler Numbers are now required for entry in
Junior Showmanship Competition. Numbers may be obtained from the American Kennel Club
- Phone: (919) 816-3776. Entry blank MUST be filled out with the necessary information,
otherwise the entry in Junior Showmanship will not be accepted.
NOVICE JUNIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years and under 12 years
old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Places,
with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.

NOVICE INTERMEDIATE CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 12years and under
15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three
First Places, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.
NOVICE SENIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years and under 18 years
old on the day of the show and who, at the entries close, have not won three First Places, with
competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.
OPEN JUNIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years and under 12 years old
on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places, with
competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.
OPEN INTERMEDIATE CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years and under
15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First
Places, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.
OPEN SENIOR CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 15 years and under 18 years
old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places, with
competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Competition must exist for Best Junior Handler.
NOTICE JUNIORS WHO SUBSTITUTE FOR THE ORIGINAL DOG THEY HAVE ENTERED IN THE
JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP CLASSES WITH DOGS THAT ARE NOT ENTERED IN ONE OF
THE OFFERED CLASSES AT THIS SHOW MUST REMIT THE JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP

SWEEPSTAKES
SWEEPSTAKES RULES
The Sweepstakes Class is open to all Afghan Hounds who, on the date of the show, will be six
months of age and under eighteen months of age. Champions of record are not eligible. Any
dog entered in a Sweepstakes Class must also be entered in a Regular Class. Owner must
indicate “sweepstakes” (and the class name) on the entry form in the section Additional
Classes. Sweepstakes Classes will be judged prior to Regular Classes. Entry fee is $15.00per
dog.

The Richmond Afghan Hound Club will retain 35% of the sweepstakes entry fees for
expenses. The remaining proceeds from sweepstakes entry will be divided among the class
winners as follows:

Second Prize………...30% of the remaining fees in that class
Third Prize…………..20% of the remaining fees in that class
Fourth Prize…………10% of the remaining fees in that class

NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS
Entries close at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2017 after which time entries cannot be
accepted, canceled, changed or substituted except as provided for in Chapter 11, Sec. 6
of AKC Dog Show Rules.
AKC governs this show. Exhibitors should read and be familiar with the AKC agreement and
instructions on reverse side of official entry form.
Telegraph, telephone and unsigned entries cannot be accepted. Entries not on Official AKC
Forms or photocopies of forms without the agreement and rules on the reverse side of entry
form are not acceptable.
No Entry shall be made nor entry shall be accepted which specifies any condition as to its
acceptance.
Make checks or money orders payable to RAHC. Foreign exhibitors must make fees
payable in U.S. funds. Show secretary is not responsible for cash sent through the mail.
Mail all entries to the show secretary.
R.A.H.C. may decline entry, may refuse to receive or may remove any dog due to disease,
viciousness or other cause. No claim or recourse shall be brought against the Richmond
Afghan Hound Club, show secretary or any official thereof.
Entries without fees will not be accepted. Acknowledgment of entry will be made as soon as
practicable. If exhibitor does not receive acknowledgment within a reasonable time, the show
secretary should be contacted.
Returned Checks or post-dated checks do not constitute valid entry fee. The returned check
must be made good with cash or money order before dog is permitted in ring. There is a
$ 30.00 service charge for any returned check.
Errors on entry forms. Owners are responsible for errors when filling out entry form,
regardless of who made the error. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event of such errors,
nor will cancellation be permitted if entry date has closed. The club and it’s show secretary
assume no responsibility for the owner / agent entering a dog in a class in which the dog is not
eligible to compete or for duplicate entries.
Loss, damage or injury The club, show secretary or officials will not be responsible for the
loss or damage to personal property or any dog exhibited, whether the result of accident or
other causes. In addition, the club assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury
sustained by exhibitor, handler or the general public. It is understood that every dog on the
show premises is in the care, custody and control of the owner/agent. The welfare and safety
of children is the sole responsibility of parent/ guardian and they must exercise control and
restraint.
Dogs absent, disqualified or excused by veterinarian or judge or barred from competition by
show committee will not receive refund for entry fees.
Cancellation of Show due to extreme weather conditions, riots, civil disturbances or any other
factors beyond management’s control and if it becomes necessary to cancel show or stop
competition, no refund of entry fees will be made.
Judges will not wait for any dog. Judges will adhere as closely as possible to the judging
schedule. Owners or agents are responsible for their dogs being present in designated ring
when their class is called for judging.
Un-entered Dogs are not permitted on show grounds. Dogs not needed
for further judging may be removed from show grounds.
Trophies and prizes will be awarded in ring at the time of judging. Advise show secretary of
any discrepancies. All trophies must be claimed on the day of the show. None will be mailed.
If necessary, show committee has the right to substitute any trophy listed in premium.
Foreign dogs are eligible for Puppy and Regular Classes.
