It is with great pleasure that we welcome our special guest keynote speakers Dr. Lysa Porth, Guy Carpenter Professor in Agriculture Risk Management & Insurance, and Laura Bennett, CEO and CoFounder of Embrace Pet Insurance. The Fish Dinner is UMAC’s premiere recruitment event of the year, as well as a celebration of community and friendship. Together, students and industry members are given a chance to meet new people and forge new relationships, learn about current developments in the field, and celebrate scholarship winners (all while enjoying some excellent food!). On October 8, UMAC hosted it’s first ever Excel Workshop!
Students were introduced to basic Excel and VBA . functions that are used extensively within an
actuarial role. They learned how these tools help actuaries tackle tough challenges, and how they apply to real world situations. A special thank you to Ray Huynh for coaching our students!
