Ultrasonic Antifouling Ltd – the world-leading manufacturer

and developer of ultrasonic antifouling systems

introduces the advanced Ultra Series II

Ultrasonic Antifouling is a revolutionary way to protect your hull

from fouling using low power, high frequency sound waves to

destroy algae and prevent weed and barnacle growth.

The Ultra System is unique, with advanced reprogrammable

digital software, controlling multiple sweeping frequencies which

have been carefully designed to discourage or destroy the majority

of fouling organisms.

Extensively researched and developed, the Ultra System

is used with great success in a wide variety of conditions and

vessel types around the world. It is the only system that has

a bespoke solar charging system which will also help to

maintain the condition of ship’s batteries.

Ultra Series II has been design engineered for easy

installation and a high level of protection from fouling.

MY Absolutely – Australia“We did a dive on the boat recently and found the hull and metal parts very clear. In the past we constantly had to clear the trim tabs as antifouling paint just washes off and weed and shell life grew quickly. This product really works.”

Birchwood 49 Motor CruiserChichester Marina“We are delighted with the Ultrasonic system that we fitted to our boat over two years ago. It has performed even better than we had hoped! Our boat has remained on her marina berth for over two years without being moved apart from two short cruises. When she was lifted the hull was completely clear, there was only a very slight film which washed off incredibly easily and some weed along the waterline, which under normal circumstances we would have scrubbed off.”

Ferretti 830 ‘Cipriana’ Cyprus“We have just recently lifted “Cipriana” and I am very impressed with the result compared to what I had on my previous yachts. In previous years we have had to send a diver down to scrub the surface before our 120 mile travel to the lifting dock, since speed would have been cut down by 4 mph, and we would get vibrations due to the growth on the shaft. We had no reduction in speed, and as you can see, there was not much work left for the diver, so we just went straight ahead this year.”

l Easy to install

l How it worksThe Ultra System control box sends a variety of pulsed

ultrasonic signals to the transducer which in turn emits a

series of low power, high frequency sound waves which

are virtually inaudible to the human ear. They create a wall

of moving water molecules over the entire underwater

profile of the hull. As a result, algae and barnacles are

destroyed. The frequencies used have been scientifically

calculated to create the right harmonics that successfully

destroy the fouling that all boats will encounter.

l Low power consumptionPeaking at just 0.7 amps for the Ultra 10 and 1.1 amps for the Ultra 20 (at 12v DC). The Ultra system is programmed with a low voltage cut off at 11 volts to protect the battery.

l Benefits of a clear hullIt is well known that a clear underwater profile improves speed through the water, manoeuvrability and for powerboats, reduces fuel costs. Fast planing boats will also lift onto the plane more quickly. Costly lift-outs and scrub-offs are reduced dramatically, all of which add to considerable cost savings gained from using Ultrasonic Antifouling.

l Environmentally friendlyThe Ultra System is harmless to fish and other animals and uses no pollutants, making it the most environmentally friendly method of maintaining a hull clear from growth.

l The Ultra System is the only ultrasonic system to have been independently tested and proven to be highly successful over several years.

l Ultra systems for sail boatsSail boat models provide an isolator switching

facility, enabling the skipper to power down

overnight or while sailing to conserve

battery power.

l Ultra systems for powerboatsUlltrasonic protection helps to prevent growth

on shafts, propellers, sterndrives and trim tabs.

l Custom systemsUltrasonic Antifouling Ltd provides a custom

design service for larger vessels such as

superyachts, commercial and military vessels.

We have also supplied a number of superyachts

with sea chest protection against fouling.

The future of antifouling

The Ultra System Series II

Suitable for use on all hull materials other than wood, there is an Ultra Series II system specifically designed for your boat.

l Easy to installThe Ultra Series II has been specially developed to improve installation,

making it easy and effective to fit yourself. We also offer an installation

service for those who prefer a professional installation.

No holes are needed through the hull. A pre-threaded fixing ring is bonded to the

inside of the hull. The new low profile transducer is then screwed into the mounting ring and connected to the cable from the control box

using the watertight connector. The control box can be fitted to any convenient bulkhead and is then linked to the power source.

l The solar charge controllerThe solar charge controller has been specially designed to control the power between solar panels, battery and the Ultrasonic Antifouling

system. This intelligent unit keeps the ships batteries in good health and provides the Ultra system with the required amount of power.

This allows boats on swing or other remote moorings to benefit from an Ultra system.
