Structures: basic animal and plant cell biology, growth of
organisms related to cell growth and cell organisaon and
specialisaon. Students learn how the circulatory and
respiratory systems work inside the body.
Chemistry: idenfying common acids and alkalis using using
indicators and the pH scale, basic understanding of
neutralisaon. Students will also get the opportunity to try
out and observe many dierent simple chemical reacons
and learn how to idenfy a chemical and physical change.
Science
Four operaons: Students will reinforce their ability to
use the 4 operaons by applying it to real life problems.
Data Handling: Collecng and displaying data, Number
and Paerns.
Fracons: Concept of parts of a whole will be looked at.
This will lead onto addion and subtracon of fracons.
Decimals: The relaonship between decimals and
fracon will be explored. Students will convert between
both. Percentages will also be introduced.
Maths
Reading : myths and legends ‘Robin Hood’, King
Arthur, Beowulf.
Wring Genres: persuasive wring, wring in role,
narraves, leer wring.
Grammacal structures and vocabulary
Various levels to match student needs.
Humanies: History Skills, Making Just
Choices: the Norman invasion of England—the
Bale of Hasngs, Keeping control— terror, castles

Students are introduced to a more formal approach to
drawing directly from observaon and the technical skills
appropriate to this study.
Students can turn their rst-hand observaons andexperiences into imaginave ideas and see those ideas
develop through the use of a range of dierent media and
processes in 2 and 3 dimensions.
Students learn to discuss works of art and design as well as
to solve spaal, creave and technical problems while
working in collaboraon with their peer group.
Art
During Term 1a Year 7 will be looking how to minimise
Risk by using structure in music.
They will look at Binary, Ternary and Rondo Structures
and will compose their own Rondo on the theme of War.
They will also sing songs related to the topic of Risk and
Structure.
During Term 1B they will be looking at the theme of
Communicaon in music by performing, composing and
listening to music of contrasng moods and
atmospheres.
Music
Rivers and Flooding
Students will start o by revising the processes
found in the water cycle and then move on to learn
about the processes and landforms found in river
basins. They will study the causes and eects of river
ooding and use Thailand’s 2011 oods as a casestudy.
Weather and Climate
Students will learn about rainfall types, how to
display climate data on graphs and how to
measure the weather. They will then use their skills
to invesgate microclimates around Harrow
grounds.

Students will be exploring the convenons and risks involved in
devising theatrical pieces through the lives of refugees. Students
will look at the challenges faced by a refugee as a basis of creang a
characters and narrave in an empathec and respecul manner.
The transferable skills which students will develop are:
- problem solving
- decision making
- empathy
- collaboraon
- me keeping
- speaking and listening
Drama
The students will complete a project called “The price of a bean”. Students will come up with a concept for a new coee shop and use ICT skill to produce various documents needed to setup the business. During this project students will learn many aspects of starng a new business and develop their ICT skills. The learning taking place is broken up into the following
secons.
Produce stascs .
Demonstrate praccal ability on Microso Word Manipulate photos.
Produce a presentaon. Produce an animaon and a short adversement using video clips.
Produce a website suitable for the business including work previously produced, such as Photos, videos and text.
Demonstrate strong use of varied communicaon channels such as email, Twier, RSS feeds, Facebook, blogs
Explain the increasing important of ICT in both the business and social aspects of everyday lives.
And nally, for the last four weeks of the year students will be given the opportunity to produce any piece of work they want.
The only criteria is that the nished product should beimpressive.

Term 1a students will gain an awareness of
main geographical features of Thailand and how
each region of the country is dierent in
products, language and geographically.
Term 1b Students will be forming imaginary
travel companies in order to promote the
Kingdom to visitors. Each group will choose a
parcular aspect of the country to promote to
tourists and engage in a variety of acvies
