What is the MediaWatch-uk?

• MediaWatch-uk is also known as National Viewers and Listeners Association, is a pressure group in the united kingdom, which campaigns against the publications and broadcasts of media content that viewers may find harmful and offensive, such as violence, sex, homosexuality and profanity.

What are the aims of the MediaWatch-uk?

1. Helping to create good media values2. Helping viewers and listeners to make their

voices heard about programmes in the most effective way.

Who is the target audience of the pressure group?

The target audience for the MediaWatch-uk is all people who work in the media industry. Also to people out side the media industry to encourage them to join the MediaWatch-uk pressure group.

What are your strategies for your campaign?

• Some of the things they do is protests• Radio and television broadcasts. • Posters put up in varies locations• Leaflets given out to people of the community.

What is the success of the campaign?

• Having achieved effective legislation in 1978 which made all child pornography illegal.

• We apply pressure on the regulator, Ofcom, to ensure TV programmes don't break the rules and we publish regular reports on a variety od media issues.

• We are regularly invited to take part in television and radio programmes and offer opinion to national, regional and local newspapers.

• We lobby the Prime Minister and other senior government ministers.

• we are pressing for an international agreement on programme standards and media content.
