Ensures long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization. Possessesexpert trouble shooting skills. In-depth knowledge of operating systems internals. Must possess at leastone professional certification, MCSA, MCSE or equivalent.

Required Knowledae, Skills, Llcensure, Trainina & Travel Requirements (if applicable):Knowledge: Five or more years of progressive responsibilities of Information Systems managementexperience preferably with VMware, Active Directory and SAN support. Knowledge of various Operatingsystems, specifically Windows and Linux. Knowledge of HP, Dell and IBM hardware. High Availabilitysystem design concepts and configuration for best practices. Experience with Server and Hardwareconfiguration, as well as Hardware moves and migrations. Operating System installations including patchand upgrades. Experience working with Complex Multi-Facility Hardware structure and platformenvironment. Experience rnanaqinq system wide backup solutions. Ability to work nights, days,weekends, holidays, and on-call when required. Self-motivated and able to interact with all levels withinthe organization. Critical thinking and initiative to resolve issues proactively.

Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of system application implementation, enhancement, supportmethods, and change control processes. Working knowledge of computer systems analysis,programming techniques and procedures, including: consulting with users to determine hardware,software or system functional specifications; design, development, documentation, analysis, creation,testing, coding, debugging, or modification of computer systems or programs based on and related touser design specifications. Extensive knowledge of IS standards and quality methods and metrics.Initiates performance monitoring and tuning, engages third party suppliers to resolve outstanding issues.Solid knowledge of project management methods. Working Knowledge of user business practices,concepts and terminology to support the applications. Strong time management and organization skillsand is able to manage multiple projects at once. Language proficiency in English, with excellent writtenand verbal fluency. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Training: Related SAN, VMware, Active Directory

Travel Requirements: 5 - 25% clomestic US travel (depending on projects).

Essential Job Duties %ofTime

1. System Implementation 40%Activities:

• Manage one or more projects.• Oversee and implement server and hardware configurations, hardware moves and

migrations• Regularly meet with users, vendors, and IS staff to develop/modify system

specifications.• Approve designs solutions for technology and prepares the appropriate documentation.

• Approve developed testing Methodologies.• Ensure adherence to appropriate UHS Project Management standards.• Ensure strict adherence to work plans, reporting all serious deviations to management.• Recommend Change Management Policies and monitors that strict adherence is

followed by all team members• Assist with Domain strategy• Lead technical design sessions with the application teams ensuring that architecture

standards are followed

Decisions: Evaluate and recommend proposals received by vendors related to system and/orhardware

2. System Maintenance/Supp'ort 30%

Activities:• Oversee disposition of maintenance-related Customer Support Center Tickets.• Ensure adherence to UHS Service Level and Change Management Policies.• Provide oversight and continued back-up to on-call support.• Establish and maintain regular communications with user community.• Manage various Windows operating systems, HP, Dell, and IBM hardware

• Maintain server and hardware configuration, as well as hardware moves and migrations.

• Assist with Operating System installations including patches and upgrades

• Able to manage Multi-I:acility Hardware structure• Monitor Change Control process and verifies testing is complete• Assess system requirements and identify potential problem areas while recommending

practical solutions• Expected to use advanced problem-solving and analytical skills to implement, update

and support complex application systems.

3. Management and Supervislon 15%

Activities:• Manage one or more direct reports and/or project teams.• Actively participate in IS Leadership meetings.• Participate with other members of IS Leadership on special projects and committees.• Provide supervisory guidance and leadership to all levels of staff as required.• Establish and monitor standards of performance for staff.• Ensure that all work conforms to established UHS policies and procedures.• Interview applicants for vacant positions using appropriate interview techniques and

makes sound selectio decisions.• Ensure that new staff members receive a comprehensive orientation to the department

and hospital requirements and environments.

• Provide feedback for employee job performance according to established standards andperform employee evaluations in a timely and constructive fashion.

• Focus on staff technical and professional development.• Keep management well informed of activities, needs, problems.• Keep staff up-to-date and informed on new and revised IS Department policies and

procedures.

Decisions: Recommend payment approval for vendor invoices. May review vendor contractsand recommends changes.

• Interact with other members of the ISMT to ensure successful and smooth completion ofprojects.

Decisions: Evaluate employee performance and initiates reward or consulting actions asappropriate. Reviews consulting applicant qualifications and cost prior to any engagement.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIESActivities:

• Ensure that admins ars properly trained in performance of their duties as required.• Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as required.• Can assist with the development and submission of capital and operation budget for

assiqned SUb-Departments.• Review selected vendor invoices and submits them for payment approval.• Ensure that vendor contracts meet UHS requirements.• Maintain relationships with key IS vendors and consulting firms.• Review and approves staff timesheets, expense reports, and on-call pay.• Update project status "or publication on a regular basis.• Interact with consultants and third parties as needed.• Maintain Service Excellence principles.• Performs other job-related duties as required by senior management.
