Dear Colleagues, The below is an interesting article about customer satisfaction that I thought to share with you. “A little boy went into a store, reached for a plastic box and pulled it over to the telephone. He climbed onto the box so that he could reach the buttons on the phone and proceeded to punch in seven digits. The store owner observed and listened to the conversation.

The boy asked, Madam, Can you give me the job of cutting your yard grass (Home Garden)?. The woman replied, Thanks, I already have someone to cut my grass. The young boy replied, I will cut your grass for half the price of the person who currently cut your grass. The woman responded that she is very satisfied with the person who is presently cutting the grass. The little boy was even more perseverant and said, I’ll even sweep your curb and your sidewalk, so on Sunday you will have the prettiest yard in the town. Again the woman answered in the negative and said; whatever you offer, I am very satisfied, Thank you. With a smile on his face, the little boy replaced the receiver of the telephone. The store owner, who was listening to this conversation, walked over to the boy and said, Son I like your attitude; I like that positive spirit and I would like to offer you a job.

The little boy replied, No thanks, I was just checking my performance on the job I already have. I am the one who is working for the lady I was talking to through the telephone!”

There were few soldiers returning from the battle field, who lost their way back home while passing a forest/jungle, ultimately found a village, where they decided to take a nap and stay for some time. They were hungry and have nothing to eat. They approached few villagers asking for the food. Apparently, the villagers got scared seeing those soldiers armed with full of ammunitions and wanted to keep themselves away from these soldiers, assuming that it may bring them trouble. The villagers said that they don’t have anything to eat. Soldiers were surprised, and ask a question, what YOU all eat. The villagers said “Stones”. Soldiers said, OK, fine bring the stones, and we will make the soup. Villagers were surprised, and brought the stones, with it of course they brought a pot, and water.

Soldiers lit the fire, put the pot on the fire with stones in, pour the water, and started stirring up the pot. Few minutes later, the soldier said, you know if we have little salt, it could give some taste. One of the villagers sitting there, brought the salt, and then the salt was put in the pot.

Few minutes later, the soldier said if we can have some vegetables, it would be really nice, one villagers went home and brought some vegetables, and then again they were all put into the pot, and soldiers continue stirring the pot, and later in the same way, all the ingredients that were required were all available in pot. Soup was ready, it was not only the soldiers but also many of the villagers who take part in participation have enjoyed the soup.

The moral of the story is “never give up” and keep trying with positive attitude and you will succeed. You can apply this on every stage you are in whether work, home, and any other places. Ataul

I am grateful for all the fond memories and experience I shared with all of you in UTC. I would like to take this occasion to convey my thanks and appreciation to Mr. Ahmed Al Hajj whom I highly respect as a person at both professional & personal level; & Mr. Mario Ibrahim for giving me the opportunity of exerting my role with high confidence allowing me to grab precious experiences, thanking him for his personal and professional support. Also, I would like to thank all of you my colleagues and friends for your kindness and understanding during the time we spent together which enriched my career and personal life, and all the sister companies for the excellent relations and friendships.

Thank you my Team for your efforts and high commitments & for the great time we spent together during the beautiful and hard periods, I am pretty sure that you will continue doing your best as usual to take UTC up to the next level.
