M3:Consolidation
Principle: “Fully integrated spiral scaffold curriculum through 4 years”
M7 TTR: Transition to Residency
LC /Theme Committees Not practical to have reps from every course/department/discipline • Create with interested parties • “Generalism” • Students • PGY resident
2013 CuRe Preclerkship Course Development (PCD)
Integrated Scaffold Spiral Curriculum •Identify Gaps and Redundancy •Identify Areas of overlap and Repetition •Concepts for Consolidation Module M3
M1/M2 Course Committees Include representation from: • Relevant department /disciplines • Diagnostic Imaging •“Generalism” • Students-ie last year’s course rep • PGY resident
M1/M2 Course Leaders Identify LC/Theme Topics from: • LC/Theme presentations or • Committee members
LC /Theme Leaders Topics : •Assign to M1/2 Courses or •Identify from M1/M2 presentations

CuRe PreClerkship curriculum: NEXT STEPS 2: 2a- June through Sept 2013:
Each course provided with hours and rough outline based upon their presentations and others’ suggestions ( ….electronically).
• Develop courses with fewer hours (up to 10 % less) for first iteration (…...presented in step 2b).
This will facilitate modifications to accommodate additional topics and longitudinal themes or courses
• M0 & M2 courses will “OWN” the mornings of weeks allocated • M1 courses will share weeks with other M1 course scheduled
Each M1/2 Leader should contact assigned librarian
Deliberate with own committees through Sept to create course objectives, outline and learning strategies

PreClerkship Course Development
CuRe PreClerkship curriculum: NEXT STEPS 2: 2b- Sept through Nov. 2013:
Commence weekly ( or more often) CuReX meetings in late Sept: With each course leader and/or committee to review specific outlines
and active learning strategies for M0, M1/M2.
After meeting with all the M1/2 leaders, CuReX will meet with: • Clinical Reasoning Leaders(s) to review topics to coincide with each M
course . This will ensure linkage, or use of CR time to highlight a topic either if very important or insufficient time to cover in M course.
• All other Longitudinal Course and Theme Leaders to identify any gaps
These are all individual meetings with specific course and CuReX …….Iterative process ….!
In parallel, PSEC ( to be defined by Barry !)commence ( >qmonthly) meetings to review MCQ questions as both F/D and question preparation.
