Mr. BASIL AJER

Mr. Basil Ajer, Director Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Division at Uganda Investment Authority.

Mr. Ajer has a MSc. Degree in Agribusiness Management, Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics and Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation. In a career spanning more than a decade, Mr. Ajer has built expertise in agricultural development and agribusiness covering wide sectors of the agricultural value chain.

He also is widely experienced in SME investments, project planning and management, monitoring and evaluation, value chain analysis, rural development, entrepreneurship development, human resource management, researches, agricultural business analysis, grant management, climate change and adaptation.

DR. ANTHONY K. KARANJADr. Karanja, Senior Lecturer in agriculture engineering at Egerton University (A leading agriculture university in East Africa).

Dr. Karanja holds a PhD Degree in Interdisciplinary Engineering from Texas Tech University, a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Nairobi, a Postgraduate Diploma in Irrigation and a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture also from the University of Nairobi.

Dr. Karanja has wide experience in teaching, research, and consultancy in the area of agronomy, soil, water resources utilization, and general agriculture production.

MARILYN WERE MWANGIMrs. Were Mwangi, Change Management Practitioner

Mrs. Were Mwangi is an accomplished change management practitioner with over 13 years’ experience in people led change, with emphasis in technology implementations within the agriculture, banking, manufacturing, construction and infrastructure sectors.

Between 2010 – 2014, she worked as a Senior Consultant with Deloitte providing Change Management consultancy in Kenya, Uganda,

Zimbabwe, Zambia and Ethiopia.
