ETC professional development services begin
with a conversation about school improvement
needs. Based on identified needs, ETC services
are then customized, including content and
materials. ETC PD is often delivered onsite
during teacher planning times. Within the
chosen PD focus, ETC services are further
differentiated by teacher expertise. The PD may
occur over several days spread out once a
month, or over the course of a semester, or an
entire year, including summers if requested.

The Educational Technology Center works collaboratively with school systems to provide
professional development, consulting, and service to educators in Georgia and beyond to
promote the appropriate use of technology in support of teaching, learning, and leadership.
OUR MISSION
The Educational Technology Center, or ETC, is
organized under the University of Georgia,
College of Educations Office of Outreach and
Engagement. Our primary focus is service to K-12
educators in the surrounding area and beyond.
The ETC has strong relationships with schooldistricts and works with them regularly as
consultants and professional development
providers. We work to apply best practices for
teaching, learning, and leadership by using
technology as a vehicle for implementing
educational research and theory. Some of our
main activities include: Providing professional development and
follow up support for all certified K-12
positions. Assisting schools and districts with
technology issues including solving hardware
and software problems, making
recommendations, providing examples,
writing grants, producing documentation, and
conducting evaluations. Providing educational technology
professional development, support, and
consulting for the UGA College of Education
facult , staff, and students.
