Ways to Give
Endowments at UF
A gift, or gifts, of $30,000+ can establish an endowed fund to be invested and provide a permanent source of income to be used in perpetuity for the purpose(s) outlined by the donor.
A fund may be established for a specific purpose or for unrestricted general support.
The University of Florida’s endowment portfolio includes more than 2,700 individual funds, 320 of these are IFAS endowments, each with its own set of instructions regarding the purposes to be supported.
The total endowment portfolio at the University of Florida is approximately $1.45B.

Gifts-in-kind

Forms needed: UFF-B UFF-P, signed by person taking possession of gift-in-kind UFF-M, if gift of equipment or other asset

Year-End Giving
Submit USPS postmarked envelopes with all gifts received in month of
December to guarantee year-end credit
Advise donors to NOT use FedEx, UPS, etc. as IRS only honors USPS
postmark dates
Gifts-in-kind must be physically received by UF or UFF personnel on or
before Dec. 31
Securities/Stock gifts must be received by UFF no later than Dec. 31
All postmarked year-end gifts must be submitted to UFF Gift Processing
by Jan. 7

Stewardship

Great resource for tracking success of specific fundraising projects, i.e. mailings, events, etc. IFAS Development can generate gift reports specific to the appeal

UFF Donor Relations sends info to IFAS Development, then IFAS Development distributes to units
June – all information collected from units and organized for submission IFAS Development collects information for 230 reporting endowments
July – information submitted to UFF Donor Relations UFF compiles information for the 2,700+ UF Endowments
September/October – report packets sent to donors
