    Preface

    Our mission at Universal Flow (UF), is to provide a quality product at a competitive price

    and to meet the needs and requirements of our customers in a timely manner. UF valvesare designed, manufactured and tested under strict quality control to meet and exceed

    all industry standards to which they are constructed. UF valves are completely traceablewith chemical, physical and pressure test records.

    Universal Flow offers a wide variety of industrial and commercial valves using carbon and

    alloy steels. Standard sizes range from 1/2to 36in diameter, with pressure ratings from

    ANSI class 150 to class 2500.

    This catalog contains basic dimensions and specifications for UF valves. The designs and

    materials offered may vary in accordance with our continuing product developmentprogram.

    ASME, and BS requirements. The following list contains the most important applicable

    Series of Floating Ball Valves

    The UF series of floating ball valves features a variety of material choices in alloy, carbon,

    or stainless steel and is available in sizes from 1to 12 in ANSI classes 150 to 1500. NACE

    MR0175 specification can be fully satisfied if required.This valve series offers versatility,

    performance and reliability at a resonable cost, as well as the following functions:

    Field proven durability in demanding applications Anti-blowout stem

    Anti-static device

    Full rated bi-directional shut-off

    Full rated dead end service

    Reduced port or full port

    Fire safe design

    The full port valves,ranging from 1to 12, provide maximum flow with minimum pressure

    drop across the valve. All valves use FDA-approved non-silicon lubricant. Mounting dimension

    and parts are identical to the latest ISO Standard for interchangeability. Standard features ofthe F Series ball valve include:

    Cryogenic Service

    UF can manufacture and supply ball valves for cryogenic

    service with extended stems (customer specified lengths).

    Sour Gas Service

    All UF ball valves can be furnished to meet the requirements

    of NACE MRO175 when required.

    Operational Extensions

    UF ball valves will accept complete operational extensions

    to include body bleed and sealant injection functions.

    Actuation

    UF ball valves permit easy adaptation of manual, electric,

    hydraulic, or pneumatic actuators.

    Live-Load Body Bolting

    Body to bonnet bolting can be live-loaded withbellevile spring washers for applications where

    rapid temperature fluctuations could cause possible

    joint leakage.

    Elements affecting the valve torque...The torque value of soft seated ball valves depends on the following main factors.

    1. Valve design and material selection

    Seat design and material selectionThe self compensation for swellresults in low torque and maximum flexibility.The friction force depends on the seat material.

    Floating ball design or trunnion mounted ball design:For trunnion mounted ball valve, the fluid load is carried by the trunnion bearing,which is PTFE lined. The PTFE lined bearings insure smooth long-life operationand result in an overall lower torque.

    2. Service conditions Pressure differential:

    For size over 1ball valve, the torque will increase substantially with any rise in pressure.

    Operation frequency:If a valve remains in the closed position under differential pressure for extendedperiods of time, the torque will increase due to cold flow of the resilient material.

    Fluid medium influence:The torque tends to be lower with oil medium.

    Temperature influence:Within the operating temperature range, the torque will remain constant exceptat low temperature levels, when the seat becomes more rigid.

    Operating limitation:Resilient materials such as PTFE and R-PTFE can be damaged by fast rotation of the ball

    while under pressure.

    Actuator selection is based on torque value. Electric and pneumatic actuators can be sizedand mounted on valves on request.

    ACCEPTANCE: All orders based on Universal Flow (UF) quotations shall be subject to acceptance in writing by UF. This acceptance is

    expressly made conditional on assent by you to any of our terms, set forth below,which are different or additional from those contained in

    your purchase order.

    PRICES: Quotations are valid for thirty days unless otherwise stated in writing and are subject to withdrawal or change at any time prior to

    acceptance by UF. Prices are F.O.B. factory. Prices are firm for sixty days from date of acceptance of order. If for any reason shipment is notmade within the sixty days, prices in effect at time of shipment will apply unless otherwise stated in writing. UF reserves the right to

    invoice customer for any or all finished material ready for shipment, when held at customers request or because of other reasons beyond

    UFS control. Every sales tax,use or other excise tax which UF may be required by law to pay on or in connection with the sale will be

    added to the price quoted, and UF reserves the right to bill such expense at the time of invoicing material or any subsequent time without

    forfeiture of collection rights. All orders are subject to any Federal, State or other Governmental regulation that may be in effect or later

    become effective. Typographical and clerical error in quotations or orders are subject to correction. Prices for valve power operators, if

    quoted,include installation and adjustment of operators in factory prior to shipment. Prices do not include field or jobsite installation

    unless otherwise so stated. Minimum order charge is $150.00.

    PAYMENT: In the case of orders for delivery to overseas points,UF reserves the right to require before commencement of work, assurance

    of payment in the form of a letter of credit or an equivalent acknowledged by UF, satisfactory to it. There will be a 1.5 percent per month

    interest charge on accounts not paid 30 days after date of invoice. Orders will be invoiced when shipped; provided however,that UF

    reserves the right to invoice the customer for any or all finished material ready for shipment, when held at customers request or when

    shipment is delayed because operators or other components specified by customer are late or defective.

    DELIVERY: Products are sold ex-works factory.The r isk of loss of the products shall pass to the customer when the products are delivered

    to the carrier for transportation to customer.

    SHIPPING DATE: All promises of shipment are estimated as closely as possible and dates offered represent shipping date rather than delivery

    to destination date. UFs best efforts are used in every case to ship within the time promised; but there is no guarantee to do so. Schedules

    commence with the date UF receives authorization to proceed with order and accepts order. If drawings are submitted,promise-of-shipment

    dates from the day they are approved and returned to UF. Products offered from stock are subject to prior sale.

    DESIGN: Because of a policy of continuous product improvement,UF reserves the right to change designs,materials or specifications without notice.

    CANCELLATION: Orders accepted by UF are not subject to cancellation except with the consent of UF and upon terms,which will indemnify

    UF against loss or damage occasioned by such cancellation.

    INSPECTION: Final inspection and acceptance of products must be made at factory and shall be conclusive except for latent defects.

    Customers representatives may inspect, at such plant, during normal business hours prior to shipment in such manner as will not interfere

    with operations.

    GOVERNMENT SALES: UF reserves the right to sell directly to Federal and State governments municipalities and public authorities,and to

    the prime contractors and/or subcontractors of such governments, municipalities and authorities and UF reserves the right to cancel any

    order for products intended by the customer to be resold or delivered to such entities.

    WARRANTY:All products manufactured by UF are warranted against defects of material or workmanship for a period of one year from the date

    shipped when these products are used within the service and pressure range for which they were manufactured. This warranty is limited to

    replacement, without charge,of parts found by UF to be defective in material or workmanship and does not extend to claims for labor,expense or

    other loss or damage occasioned by such defect. This warranty does not cover deterioration by corrosion,erosion or any cause of failure other than

    defect of material or workmanship. Purchasers are expected to determine the suitability of UF products for their particular purposes. UF shall not

    be liable for prospective profits or special, indirect or consequential damages,whether or not UF is negligent,or shall any recovery of any kind

    against UF be greater in amount than the purchase price of the specific product sold and causing the alleged loss,damage or injury. No action of

    customer arising out of the sale shall be commenced later than one year after the cause of action has accrued. THIS WARRANTY IS IN PLACE AND IN

    LIEU OF ALL WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS AND ANY OTHER WARRANTY.

    RETURNS: No material may be returned for credit or adjustment without permission and return tagging instructions-in-writing-from UF.

    On all material approved for return for credit,handling/restocking costs, if any, and cost to recondition for resale as new, will be charged.

    EXPORT PACKING: Export packing charges, when applicable, will be added to orders specifying such packing.
