RADIOLOGY REVIEWFeaturing the lowest quality x-rays anybody could possibly find.
1
Osteoarthritis of DIP joints (note contractures)
2
Left upper lobe pneumonia
3
CardiomegalyThat shit’s huuuuuuge
4
Colles fractureDistal radius fracture with dorsal displacement of wrist
5
Greenstick fracture
The fracture itself appears to be incomplete with medial displacement of
the radius (assuming it’s the radius?) The presence of growth plates further
suggests a greenstick, since those happen in kids. It’s hard to tell if there’s
displacement of the distal radioulnar joint, but if so it could also be called a
Galeazzi fracture.
6
Small bowel obstruction
Is it an ileus? Is it mechanical? The world may never know.
7
Colon carcinoma
(involvement of hepatic flexure)
Note the apple core lesion.
8
UreterolithiasisWith resultant hydronephrosis
That kidney is huge, and there’s a positive arrow sign.
9
Bronchogenic carcinoma
Could also be pulmonary TB with cavitating lesions. Doesn’t look like diffuse enough granuloma formation around it though. Let’s just trust the
experienced surgeon and go with cancer, or get this patient a CT
already.
10
Tension pneumothorax
Holy underexposure, Batman.
11
Skull fractureLikely a compound depressed skull fracture, more specifically. Not like
you would even order a radiograph in this particular instance anyway.
12
EpiglottitisOr...is that a trach?
13
Pneumoperitoneum? Bullous emphysema?
“Let’s give the students the worst quality x-ray we can find! That’ll
show ‘em!”
14
Cardiogenic pulmonary
edemaCardiomegaly
Pleural effusionIncreased pulmonary vasculature
Increased lung markings secondary to pulmonary edema
15
Multiple myeloma
Which is worse than singular myeloma.
Numerous lytic lesion are shown, typical of the condition.
16
EmphysemaDiaphragms are flattened, plus the
cardiac silhouette looks pretty small in relation to the remainder of the lungs, indicating hyperinflation?
17
I have no idea.Like, seriously, not even the slightest
clue. Can I get an arrow?
18
Rheumatoid arthritisWith ulnar deviation of metacarpophalangeal joints.
19
Posterior dislocation of hip
20
Osteoarthritis of kneeNotable joint space narrowing, osteophyte complexes, etc.
