The issue of enhancement of Budget at Revised Estimate Stage was discussed for the year 2016-17. New Delhi, Oct 21 Government today launched the regional air connectivity scheme 'UDAN- Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik', which seeks to get more people to fly in the smaller towns. Civil Aviation Minister Shri Ashok Gajapathi Raju while launching the scheme in New Delhi said the scheme is expected to be rolled out by January. He said cabinet had taken a decision on civil aviation policy four months back and regional connectivity was a major component of it. Shri Raju said growth rate in civil aviation is encouraging. Minister of State for Civil Aviation Shri Jayant Sinha said the scheme is inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision to make air travel accessible to common people. He said the scheme will make costs of flying lower to serve underserved and other routes. He said, it is a Deepavali gift for common people. Secretary Civil Aviation, Shri Rajiv Nayan Choubey said UDAN aims to increase ticketing volume from 80 million to 300 million by 2022. Under the scheme, airlines will have complete freedom to enter into code sharing with larger airlines Chartered flight tickets available Port Blair, Oct. 21 Chartered flight tickets on Chennai-Port Blair- Chennai and Kolkata-Port Blair-Kolkata sector @ Rs 5000/- for the Islanders and @ Rs 9000/- for Non-Islanders are available on following dates. It is a unique market-based mechanism to develop regional connectivity, under which Airlines will bid for seat subsidies. They will bid for up to 40 subsidised seats and minimum seats will be 9. There will be 50 percent seats on market based pricing. Port Blair, Oct. 21 The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Anindo Majumdar visited Havelock Island along with Dy. Commissioner (SA) Shri Udit Prakash Rai on Oct. 20. During the visit, the Chief Secretary chaired a meeting with the PRIs, Social Workers and the departmental heads to address various issues raised by the people of Havelock from time to time. Issues like frequent power cuts, inadequate ferry services, requirement of CHC, matter related to Education Department, etc. were brought to the knowledge of the Chief Secretary during the meeting. After giving a patient hearing on all the CS visits Havelock; directs Departments to mitigate people’s grivances promptly issues, the Chief Secretary assured to take appropriate action and directed the respective departments to sort out the issues promptly. Allotment of two BAMS and two Para Medical Course (DMLT & DMC) courses at mainland institutions to the students of A&N Islands for the academic session 2016-17 It is brought to the notice of all concerned that Madan Mohan Malviya Ayurved College, Udaipur, Rajasthan has reserved 1 (one) seat in BAMS course for the students of this UT of A&N Islands for the academic session 2016-17. The seat will be allotted to the eligible candidate under Category-I. It is further brought to the notice of all concerned that 1 (one) BAMS seat reserved at Anantalaxmi Govt. Ayurvedic College, Warangal from Category-III A and 2 (two) Para Medical Course (DMLT and DMC) reserved at Directorate of Medical Education, Govt. of Kerala from Category-III A & V are fallen vacant due to surrender of seats by the allotted/ selected candidates. The surrendered seats will be allotted to the eligible students from the respective categories. The counselling for the above four seats will be held on 24th October, 2016 at 3.00 pm in the Conference Hall of Secretariat, Port Blair. All eligible/interested candidates whose names appeared in the final merit list of BAMS and Para Medical courses are requested to appear for counselling on the date and time specified above alongwith all their original certificates/ testimonials with 4 (four) passport size photographs and 2 permanency certificates for sureties and other documents in support of their category. If the seats are un-utilized from the respective categories, the same may be allotted from Category-V as per merit. Hence, the candidates whose names appeared in the final merit list of BAMS, and Para Medical Courses under Category-V are requested to attend the counselling. If the seats remain still vacant, the same will be allotted to the fresh eligible candidate who is present in the counselling as per their merit. Therefore fresh eligible candidates, those who are interested for allotment of the above seats, are also requested to be present on the above date of counselling alongwith all testimonials in original. No claim will be entertained or considered, in case the candidate fails to appear in person with requisite testimonials/certificates in original at the time of counselling/selection on the scheduled date and time specified above.
