UCM Summer Music Camp Percussion Audions Each of the following pages shows several musical examples. Students should prepare the following for Percussion Audions: Middle School / Junior High Students: Prepare as much as you are able to prepare beginning with the first example on each page. If you are able to prepare more, please do so. Please prepare as many areas as you are comfortable preparing: o Snare drum o Timpani o Keyboard Percussion High School Students: Prepare as much as you are able to prepare, beginning with the following example(s) on each page. o Snare drum (begin with example #3) o Timpani (begin with example #2) o Keyboard Percussion (begin with example #3) High school students should audion in at least two of the three areas: o Snare drum o Timpani o Keyboard Percussion The final page illustrates some of the typical drum set grooves that students will be asked to demonstrate for the jazz band audions.
