Admissions and Student Profile
• Heavily over-subscribed with more than 1000 applications each year for 180 places leading to a catchment area less than 1 mile
• 30% Free school meals
• 60% Disadvantaged students
• 70% English as an additional language
• More than 70 languages spoken

Pastoral Care
• The UCL Academy’s Pastoral system is based on 5
Houses, each with its own dining and social area
• The Head of House is based in the House area
• Each House has a number of small House tutor groups
• These are vertical House Tutor groups mixing
Foundation level (year 7) and level 3 ( year 12)
• However, the Foundation level students will meet their
tutor twice a day , once on their own and once with
level 3 students

International Middle Year Curriculum into the
Academy Connected Curriculum
• Developed for use in British Schools around the world
• Built on the success of the International Primary Curriculum
• The 3 year IMYC has 30 units each lasting 6 weeks
• From these units UCL Academy will select a curriculum that best
suits our students.
• Each unit centres on a ‘Big Idea’
