PRAISE FOR LIFE!
“ I’ve been nothing but pleased with UA. Thanks for another great webinar. I just moved to San Antonio from California and am looking forward to getting revved up and doing a one-two punch with Medicare Supplements and Final Expense. I made MDRT in the 1980s with a Universal Life product, but am now anxious to just pile on the Senior products since I’m in that age bracket. UA is great! Sorry I missed the Texas seminars; anxious for them to come around again. Keep up the good work. Cabo, here I come!”
~Agent Bob Brassard

As many times as I’ve been to Boca Raton, it never loses its attraction. There’s always something new and exciting to discover. It may be a new restaurant, a new resort, or the rediscovery of what’s always been here — its amazing architecture. As often as I’ve visited Boca, I don’t think I was ever so aware of what an architectural treasure this city is until this year’s Convention visit. If you read about the history of Boca Raton, you read about Addison Mizner’s Ritz-Carlton Cloister Inn built in 1926. This beautiful property, which was renamed the Boca Raton Resort & Club, is one of the few ‘5 star’ resorts in Florida, and the selected location for our Convention last month. Wasn’t it spectacular? I’ve attended a lot of Conventions and visited a lot of resorts, but the Boca Raton Resort & Club is definitely one of my favorites.
CELEBRATE!Convention is a special time for all of us. I love having the opportunity to celebrate your success and spend time with you. We talk shop, but we also just enjoy each other’s company, renew longtime friendships, foster/create new relationships, and celebrate your achievements. Every year at
Convention I’m reminded once again that I’m associated with two wonderful Companies. UA and First UA have afforded me the opportunity and privilege of working with outstanding professionals in the insurance sales arena.
WORK TOWARD 2016If you didn’t make it to Boca, the 2016 Convention in Los Cabos, Mexico, is waiting with open arms. We’re more than half way through 2015, but you still have time to up your game and qualify for the 2016 Convention. With new whole life products, term life, Medicare Supplement insurance, cancer, critical illness, and accident policies, you have an outstanding portfolio of products to offer prospects and customers at any stage of their lives. And if you aren’t selling life, you’re leaving money on the table. Period!
If you aren’t yet e-App certified for Medicare Supplement insurance sales, sign up for an e-App certification webinar. E-App Director Dave Oliver holds several certification webinars each month and is happy to answer your questions. Remember, you can submit a Medicare Supplement insurance application up to six months*
before a Senior is Medicare eligible. And it’s never too early to think about the Medicare Annual Election Period that starts Oct. 15, 2015.
PLAY BALL!Our Globe Life Park recruiting and sales contests have pumped up your competitive spirits this summer. The ‘Second Grand Slam Recruiting’ contest is still going on and runs until Aug. 21, 2015. Bringing new talent into your Agency can win you a trip to Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas, where you’ll enjoy a Major League baseball game and feel like an MVP yourself.
I’m excited about the remainder of 2015. There are so many avenues for you to travel, and they can all lead to success and to the 2016 Convention! Los Cabos … here we come!

Mizner dreamed of rivaling Deauville and Monte Carlo by “combining a monastic atmosphere with a modern hotel on a 16,000-acre tract with four golf courses, a Venetian lake with gondolas, a complete Spanish village and Irving Berlin’s Cabaret.”

Mizner started his own business, Mizner Industries, to manufacturer and import the Spanish tiles, columns, wrought iron, carved wood, stained glass, and pottery that he wanted to feature in his work.

A Celebration in Style
Those attending Convention 2015 may have noticed a unique flair to the South Florida resort that hosted our fabulous celebration. Designed by renegade
architect Addison Mizner, the Boca Raton Resort and Club displays a Spanish and Mediterranean-revival architecture that changed the area’s landscape in the early 1900s. It’s fitting that UA and First UA honored our highest achievers in
such a remarkable place. After all, each of you can make a lasting mark in your communities through the work you do. Give it a style all your own.
What will your legacy be?

When the Cloister Inn (which would become the nucleus of the
Boca Raton Resort & Club) opened in February 1926, it was said to be the most expensive hotel of its size, with furnishings costing $10,000 per room.
http://www.pbchistoryonline.org/page/mizner-in-boca-raton
Considered the Cloister Inn’s most dramatic room, Mizner's dining room was modeled on a 15th-century Catalonian hospital, featuring wash basins built into the side walls allowing diners to rinse-and-wash during dinner.

Today Mizner’s well-known love for monkeys is celebrated in a whimsical, stylish bar, located at the west end of the iconic Cloister building. It’s aptly named Mizner’s Monkey Bar. Mizner was often seen walking around the grounds of the resort with his pet monkey, Johnnie Brown, perched on his shoulder.
