DIRECTOR’S CORNER

As this is the last OLLI catalog that I will be responsible for I wanted to express my

appreciation for having a great four and a half years. I feel so fortunate to have had the

opportunity to serve as your Director. I think this OLLI program is absolutely incredible!

The combination of OLLI students, the instructors, the UTEP faculty and this great

campus, have made an incredibly enriching experience.

I’ve had a wonderful time getting to know many of you on a personal level! I am so

grateful to everyone of you who has volunteered in one way or another over the past few years. This program

runs so much better when there are many contributors! THANKS EVERYONE!

In case some of you don’t know, Lynn Provenzano will be the new executive director. Lynn has been a part of

OLLI for many years and already knows many OLLI members. Over the years she has focused on teaching

Meditation and Pranic healing. In her other life she has worked in commercial, educational and non-profit

worlds in various capacities including teaching and administration. I hope you will all give her the same level of

support that you have given me!

I think that this coming semester’s catalog really has something for everyone!. Some new classes and

instructors and some of the regulars. From hands-on art opportunities to some very academically stimulating

topics like Gothic literature or legal philosophy.

We will be continuing our registration policy of a level playing field for all members whether you call, come in

or mail in your registration. PLEASE don’t come early and expect to get priority. Everyone has the same

chance of getting into the classes that they want.

Lastly I would like to encourage all of you to make a special donation to OLLI and UTEP. President Natalicio

was instrumental in starting OLLI and supporting the program for all of these years! We should all take part in

the “Thank You for 30” Campaign. You can designate your donation to the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute!

Have a great Holiday Season and a wonderful new year!!

Ian Wilson
